Do you have lower back or pelvic pain after having your baby? Are you in the first 12 months postpartum? You are eligible for free treatment as a part of this study.

This study will entitle you to free treatment and will give you the opportunity to have a detailed assessment. Knowing what you can do to prevent long-term implications is the first step in taking a proactive approach to your health and well-being.

What is osteopathy?

Osteopathic manual therapy is a form of manual therapy which uses a holistic approach. Instead of just treating the area of pain it treats the root cause. The body works as a whole, therefore, must be treated as such. The treatment techniques are gentle and promote auto regulation in your body, allowing your healing mechanisms to be activated.

Sumen has been actively practicing Physiotherapy for 10 years and is very passionate about her work. She is member Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia, and Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

Sumen graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Physiotherapy (with Honours)in 2005, and has completed her Certificate of the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute.  Sumen has completed level 3 of her Orthopedic Division Manual therapy courses and is currently pursuing her further studies In Osteopathy. She is currently running a clinical research “The effects of Osteopathy on Postpartum Women Suffering from lumbosacral and pelvic girdle pain.”

As a physiotherapist Sumen works with a variety of clients and enjoys working with each person on an individual basis.  She has worked in acute care , community care and private practice.

She works with a large variety of injuries like Women’s health, TMJ dysfunction, ICBC, WCB and Sports Injuries.  Sumen believes that each client needs a specialized treatment designed to meet their unique needs and works with her clients to help them through the healing process.
