Spring is almost here and we can hardly wait! Some of our favorite parts of Spring are warmer weather (as warm as Alberta gets), later days, and of course Spring Break. It’s the perfect time to travel, sit back and relax or even better to jump in and find a new passion or skill! Rapid Fire Theatre has a wide variety of camps that are a fantastic option and we are so excited to be able to share all about what their camps entail.
About Rapid Fire Theatre
Rapid Fire Theatre is Edmonton’s longest running improv company opening all the way back in 1981. Every year they put on over 300 improv shows! In addition to the weekly shows, they produce Improvaganza (their annual international comedy festival), BONFIRE ( long-form improv festival) as well as The Wildfire Festival. They also produce many shows at the annual International Fringe Festival and teach amazing improv classes.
Back in 2021 Rapid Fire Theatre found their forever home at the TELUS’ Strathcona Exchange in the heart of Edmonton’s Old Strathcona theatre district. Signing a 40 year lease they have poured everything into transforming this space into their dream theatre while also honoring it’s incredible heritage. Spring Break Improv Camps
When: Monday, March 30th – Friday, April 3rd
Where: Rapid Fire Exchange ( 10437 83 Ave)
Times: 9 am-4 pm
Showcase Fri, Apr 3 4pm-5:30pm
Kids (Ages 6-9)
Rapid Fire Theatre’s summer camps for kids ages 6-9 are specifically designed for younger improvisers. Through play, we’ll practice skills like body control, focus, and collaboration. Campers can expect to play a boat-load of games that will get us up on our feet and using our whole bodies. At the end of camp, we’ll have an optional showcase for your kiddo to show off all their new tricks!
Kids (Ages 9-12)
Rapid Fire Theatre’s summer camps for kids ages 9-11 are specifically designed for younger improvisers. Campers can expect to play games that will shape the ideas they have in their brains and put them on the stage. We’ll start to practice skills like saying “yes and”, trusting our impulse, and turning failure into gold! At the end of camp, we’ll have an optional showcase for your kiddo to show off all their new tricks!
Teens (Ages 13-18)
Rapid Fire Theatre’s Teen Improv Camp is going to be 5 days straight of laughs and love (Rapid Fire Theatre cannot guarantee you will find love at our camps). Campers will learn and develop the fundamentals of improv: acceptance; following impulse; and happy failure. And when it’s all said and done, we’ll put on a show! No prior improv experience required.
Extended Service
This is offered one hour prior to camp start (8-9am) and one hour after camp (4-5pm) at the cost of $50 for one week of pre-camp supervision and $50 for one week of post-camp supervision. This option will be available when purchasing your camp registration.

- No snacks or meals will be provided
- Each camp culminates with a Friday afternoon showcase for friends and family to come and cheer on all these first-class campers! Get your tickets in advance online as the showcase has been known to sell out.
