Due to the tragic fires in northern Alberta, there is a substantial need for sports equipment. Sports Central has set a goal to raise $500,000 worth of new and gently used sports equipment for those affected by the fires. The need does not end with the return of residents to their homes, businesses and lives. This Equipment Drive is to provide the gear needed to physically start a Fort McMurray Sport Equipment Distribution Centre for needy children, to ensure continued support in this region of Alberta for many years to come. The power of this Equipment Drive lies in the fact that the donated equipment can be recycled and reused through this program to positively impact the community for years and years to come.
Currently there is a large need for bikes and United Cycle has teamed up with Sports Central to offer a special discount to anyone who is donating a gently used bike! For a limited time only you can donate your old bike to the Sport for the North Equipment drive and receive 10% off your next bike purchase! Any bike gets you 10% off any new bike. Not only will you be saving money, you can help a kid in need, reduce waste and increase sustainability!
So. Awesome.
