Offering unique programming that blends together movement early childhood learning creating the perfect environment for your child to thrive.

The Super Kids Playschool program includes Tools of the Mind which is a research-based curriculum that prioritizes executive functioning and self-regulation. Super Kids Playschool also aligns with FLIGHT  a Many other programs simply focus on academics such as numbers and letters. Super Kids Playschool knows that children who are successful in kindergarten are those who can follow directions, manage emotions, collaborate with peers, and sustain focus.

Physical activity is a crucial part of cognitive development and a large part of their approach at Super Kids Playschool, ensuring they get 60 minutes of activity per day. As a parent of a child with ADHD I know how incredibly important it is to have an outlet to express that energy in a positive way.  Exclusive daytime use of Velocity Complex truly sets them apart from many other playschools in the city.

What You Can Expect

Play Based Learning

Make-believe play is at the heart of learning at Super Kids Playschool. Through intentional, scaffolded play experiences, children develop the self-regulation and executive functioning skills they need for school success.

  • Children choose their play scenario and plan their play each day, developing the ability to think before acting and follow through on goals
  • Children engage in small group make-believe play, practicing role-taking, problem-solving, and collaboration with their peers
  • Teachers guide children to extend and deepen their play, building language skills and imaginative thinking
  • Children experience uninterrupted play time with rich props and materials that spark creativity and exploration
  • Play scenarios are connected to real-world experiences, building the background knowledge children need to engage fully
  • Through play, children naturally practice self-regulation, impulse control, and the ability to manage emotions—skills that are the foundation of school readiness

Free Choice

During free choice time, children direct their own learning by selecting between play activities and process art. This child-led time is essential for building independence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

  • Children make their own choices about what to explore, building decision-making skills and independence
  • Play activities allow children to continue developing through make-believe, construction, and imaginative exploration
  • Process art experiences emphasize exploration and experimentation over final products, allowing children to focus on the creative journey
  • Through process art, children develop expressive language skills, nurture social and emotional growth, and strengthen thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Process art supports fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, and helps children practice focus and extend their attention span through trial-and-error and experimentation
  • Process art provides an outlet for self-expression and authenticity, helping children communicate feelings and ideas while managing emotions
  • Teachers provide varied materials and ample time, trusting children as capable creators without directing the outcome
  • There is no “right way” to create—the process matters far more than the finished product, freeing children to take risks and explore

Graphics Practice

Graphics Practice is a structured, playful activity where children develop the fine motor and self-regulation skills essential for writing—all while having fun with music and imagination.

  • Children draw on whiteboards with markers, stopping and starting in response to musical cues, learning to inhibit impulses while also remembering the shape they’re representing
  • Children practice pencil grasp, components of letter formation, and self-regulation through pre-writing activities set in imaginative scenarios
  • Children use private speech to help them remember how and what to write, building language and metacognitive skills as they verbalize their thinking
  • Children practice holding multiple ideas in their brain at once—drawing a shape while listening to music and stopping on cue—which is vital to self-regulation development
  • The playful, musical nature of Graphics Practice makes fine motor practice enjoyable and engaging rather than drill-based
  • Teachers work with individual students on their specific goals, so some children may be tracing, others writing first names, and others writing first and last names, with improvement visible over time
  • Graphics Practice prepares children for writing success in kindergarten and beyond

Gymnastics/Acro/Aerial Arts

Through tumbling, beams, and floor work, children develop confidence, body awareness, and the physical foundation that benefits all future athletic pursuits.

Access to aerial silks, lyra (hoop), and aerial hammocks offers a one-of-a-kind learning experience. Aerial activities promote physical strength and flexibility, develop motor skills and spatial awareness, build confidence and self-esteem, and enhance cognitive skills. Aerial arts also support sensory integration, motor skill development, improved concentration and body awareness, social and emotional skill building, and anxiety and stress relief. Children with sensory sensitivities often respond particularly well to the calming effects of aerial hammocks, which provide a sensory getaway for all children.

Movement at Super Kids Playschool isn’t a separate “PE” class—it’s integrated into our daily learning and is fundamental to how we support school readiness, cognitive development, and lifelong confidence in children’s bodies and abilities.
