A Special Time for Santa – A free, sensory-friendly event designed for children with Autism, mobility disabilities and other special needs.
Southcentre Mall is proud to offer for the fourth year in a row a free, by registration only, sensory-friendly Santa visit program designed for children with Autism, mobility disabilities and other special needs.
Families can register for A Special Time for Santa by calling 403-225-9100. Space per event is limited to the first 150 families who register. Once registered, further information including confirmation of your time slot, parking, and check-in information will be provided directly.
Although visiting Santa is a part of many families’ holiday traditions, for children with sensory processing difficulties, bright lights, noise, large crowds, and other traditions can be overwhelming and stressful. Southcentre’s usual holiday music and centre lights will be off (with plenty of natural lighting) to provide a quiet, calm and supportive environment for families and children with sensory needs in mind, including autism, Asperger’s syndrome, cerebral palsy, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, free of charge by appointment.
