With the gorgeous weather upon us, Spring (or Summer) is in the air and it is time to start thinking about Summer Camps and the City of Edmonton has great options to choose from! These daycamps are the perfect way to keep kids active and engaged all summer long!
You can easily create a personalized summer daycamp guide, sorting camps by age, location and theme to create a customized list of camps with My Rec Guide. Summer daycamps are offered for children ages 2-17 at various locations across the city; meaning you can choose a camp close to home, close to work or wherever is most convenient for you! For youth between 13 and 17, volunteer positions are also available, a great way for teens to develop skills and build their resumes.
Camp themes and activities vary, including interacting with animals at the zoo, learning survival skills in the river valley, exploring the world of plants and nature at the Muttart Conservatory or trying new sports and games at leisure and recreation centres. Themes include fine and visual arts, sports, science, history, and outdoor skills.
To browse the complete program offerings, parents can flip through the 2016 Summer Daycamps Guide online or pick up a copy of the Daycamps Guide at Edmonton Public Library branches, City of Edmonton Recreation and Leisure Centres, City attractions, or City of Edmonton offices in your neighbourhood. To register, go to Edmonton.ca/daycamps or call 311.
