Local Shop Review: Kixs {+ Giveaway}

If you know me, or have been following me for a while, you know that I LOVE shopping and fashion. But you also might know that I hate wasting time and always seem to be running short on time; just call me the Queen of “I’ll be there in 5 minutes”! That’s why I like St. Albert Centre. It’s close, I can park easily and find what I need quickly. This week I checked out a store called KIXS and I’ll definitely be going back. Here’s why:

The Brands….

KIXS carries a wide variety of name brands that can be hard to find elsewhere in the mall like ONLY, 2 UNDR, My Package, Toms, Only and Sons, Reef, Taxi, New Balance, Barney Cools and more! My purchases are not typically heavily influenced by name brand, UNLESS I know that the brand has great quality, style and fit. Let’s face it, as a busy mom I know my time at the mall is limited. Either I am trying to keep my 3 year old entertained with hide & seek under clothing racks or I have half an hour before I need to get home and onto making dinner before there is a hanger crisis. At KIXS it’s easy because I know exactly what size Toms I need and I know the ONLY brand clothes fit my body shape well.

The selection….

KIXS is stocked! There is nothing worse, in my opinion, that being in a store that feels empty or low in stock. At the time of writing I found the selections and sizes to be solid. Winter coats, mitts, boots, scarves, sweaters, jeans….everything! Did I mention the shoe selection?!

The Sale Racks…..

I found many marked down items on the sale racks that I loved.. These included some summer dresses (hello winter vacation), light weight sweaters (perfect for when you get overheated from hauling the little humans around) and marked down shoes (can you ever have enough?)!

Something for everyone….

KIXS carries a great selection of women’s clothing, outerwear and footwear, but that’s not all. You will also find menswear like jeans, shirts, sweaters, shoes, socks and the oh-so-fancy yet comfy (as I’m told) underwear brands My Package and 2 UNDR. There’s also the most adorable infant and youth shoes by Toms and New Balance. Sometimes I just like to stop and ooh and ahh over the baby sparkly Toms, because adorable.

The Vibe…

Shopping at KIXS feels laid back and not at all overwhelming. It’s like being in a quaint boutique. There’s even comfy leather chairs where you can try on shoes or relax for a minute while you convince/justify to yourself that you need it all. PS- I’m really good at that game, just ask my husband or bestie. I also really appreciate the merchandising that the staff at KIXS have put together. Many of the mannequins in the women’s section are dressed head to toe in complimentary outfits, which really takes some of the guesswork out of the equation for me. Wearable fashion is where it’s at.
