Put Your Cleaning on AutoPilot: iRobot BraavaJet

*I received the iRobot BraavaJet for this post. Affiliate links below.

With four pets and three kids, my floors get messy. I bet yours do too, even if it’s just one child or too. Cleaning floors has, and never will be, my jam. In fact, my husband is the one who mops our main floor.

About a year ago, I invested in the iRobot Roomba to vacuum the main floor to pick up all the pet hair and dust. That meant I no longer needed to sweep every day (woop woop!). It works great!

So when iRobot reached out to see if I wanted to try to the brand new BraavaJet®, a mopping robot, I was a “Heck YES!”.

It runs for about 250 square feet on one battery charge and cleaning pad when wet mopping, so I need to run two charges for my entire main floor, but it’s extra awesome for my bathrooms. To run it twice in the same space, I set up a ‘virtual wall’ with it so it knows not to clean any space behind where I’ve done that. You just hold down the CLEAN button to create the virtual wall.

My girls have to keep up with their own bathrooms, but they haven’t been doing floors, so this is perfect. It’s easy enough for a 9yo to use when it’s her turn to clean their bathroom.

It’s really simple:

  1. Fill the tank (if you want wet mopping)
  2. Slide a pad in place
  3. Press CLEAN

DIFFERENT PADS

Braava jet® automatically selects the correct cleaning method based on pad type. Choose from wet mopping, damp sweeping, and dry sweeping pads. Works on hard floors such as hardwood or laminate, tile, and stone.

With the push of a button, just drop the dirty pad into the garbage, you don’t have to touch it.

You can also find washable pads online if you don’t want to use disposable ones. You can buy both at that link or in local stores like Canadian Tire, Walmart and Bed, Bath and Beyond (and of course, Amazon)

SPACE

With a wet mop pad, it will clean about 200 square feet, with damp or dry sweeping, it will go up to 250 square feet.

SMART

The sensors on the Braava jet® won’t spray walls, carpets, and has a cliff sensor to detect stairs (so it doesn’t fall down them).

It navigates easily around corners, and around pedestal sinks and toilets.

Are you loving mopping your floors, or will you try the BraavaJet®?

In summary, it’s not going to replace a good old fashioned hand mopping, but it’s perfect for bathrooms and entry ways!
