January 2014. As the adage says, time flies when you’re having fun! My son turned the BIG 1 year old last month and it’s been celebrations, ice storms, Holiday’s and playdates ever since! I love this season, especially the time it affords us to spend time with family and friends to enjoy what Canada has to offer….COLD WEATHER!!! Finally though, we are ready to get back to our routine and just in time as Toronto has some great events happening this weekend. There’s something for everyone, so grab a cup of cocoa and choose one or a few of my suggestions below for some good family fun!
Public Skating at Evergreen Brickworks Monday through Sunday 11:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. through March
Take the whole family down for free public skating in the Don Valley and wind your way through Evergreen’s outdoor ice rink! The rink is fun for the whole family and a showcase of innovation in Green Design. An ECO CHILL® refrigeration system cools the ice surface while reusing the excess heat to warm the Marketplace building next door.
Winter Fun Day At Colborne Lodge Sunday 11:00a.m. to 3:00p.m.
Fun wintery activities including taffy pulling for kids take place inside Colborne Lodge and roasting marshmallows, eating roasted potatoes and sipping warm cider in the great outdoors. Dress warmly as most of the activities are outside.
Wise Luck Charm Bracelets for Team Canada Saturday and Sunday from 10:00a.m. to 1:00p.m.
Your child can become a wise adventure kid by making a bracelet for a Canadian athlete. Kids will receive full training on how to make a Wise Luck Charm and all supplies will be provided. Wise Adventures will have them delivered to Sochi before February 6th.
