We recently had our School of Mom sponsored by Cheekychops, Britax & Halo on the myths of infant sleep! We had a great discussion and Dawnn (founder of Cheekychops) helped answer many specific sleep questions throughout our one hour session on Facebook. Here is a brief re-cap, and if you have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to Dawnn directly at Cheekychops.

1 | Introducing solids, will help your baby sleep better.

Actually, introducing new foods can cause gassiness initially so it can actually make sleep difficult for little ones.

2 | Babies do not regress at 4 months, from a sleep perspective, they actually progress, as their sleep cycles are changing – a totally normal development.

3 | In time, they will grow out of it.

In most cases, children do not change their habits unless you change your habits.

4 | The older they are, the easier it will be to make changes.

Wrong; if you can get baby into good solid sleep habits early, they will stay with her throughout her childhood.

5 | Introducing a dream feed will help baby sleep longer

Disrupting baby’s sleep cycle can actually initiate new wakings.
