5 Things Friday: Birthday Parties

birthday parties

Spruce Grove (and area) moms, aka “party planners”, now have more choices than ever for hosting LOCAL birthday parties!

{one} Bouncin’ Birthday

Bounce Country started hosting Bouncin’ Birthday Parties as of January 2012. For $179 you get a 2-hour indoor party with multiple inflatables, invitations, and thank-you cards! Contact Zoe at info(at)bouncecountry.ca.

{two} Swim. Skate. Play.

Want to go skating or swimming? The TriLeisure Center has a host of amenities to make your party a fun and “age appropriate” event. With a budget in mind you can pick from a Silver or Bronze party package. The best part… a “party host” is included who does all the clean up! Call 780-960-5080.

{three} Party Time

The Spruce Grove library offers “themed” birthday parties: Dino-mania, Pirate Adventure, Princesses or Oceans Alive! For more information please call 780-962-4423 ext.110. The  Stony Plain library has party room rentals, too!

{four} Hollywood Style

Parkland Cinemas can make your party “movie fun” for everyone with the birthday child as the lead star! The birthday party package includes admission to a matinee movie, kids combo treat pack (popcorn, drink, and chocolate bar), lot bags, and a party “host”. Print your invites off their website, too! Call 780-962-9553 to arrange the party!

{five} Happy Acres

Happy Acres is a great outdoor location for summer birthdays! They have a picnic area, playhouse, playground equipment and trampoline! For the animal-lovers there is a large variety of farm animals including chickens, turkeys, exotic birds, rabbits, miniature horses and donkeys, and “CRICKET” the talking Cockatoo. Currently closed for the season, you can contact them at happyacresdebbie(at)hotmail.com.

Tell us your favorite party ideas below and win 2 movie tickets to Parkland Cinemas! Contest closes Thursday, February 9th at 9pm MST.

I love themed parties, like a princess party or tea party for girls, or a construction or superhero party for boys!

At time out they do little girl birthday parties. They get their hair, make-up and nails done and then they have a little tea party. Super cute and the girls love it!

By far one of the BEST birthday parties my daughter had was a pioneer birthday at the Multicultural Heritage Center in Stony Plain. They even baked her own birthday cake in an old wood stove! Kids has a ball and it was very, very reasonably priced! http://www.multicentre.org

I just had my daughter’s birthday party at Crock A Doodle right here in Spruce Grove. It was fantastic! The girls in there are super sweet and great with the kids. I didn’t have to do a thing! It was such a quiet party….not typical for a bunch of 6 year old girls! The pottery pieces turned out great and the kids were so excited to get them back. This is such a fun party for the kids and easy for Mom! I would highly recommend a Crock A Doodle birthday party!

Happy Acres! I never even thought of them for parties. Just might have to have my son’s party there this year.

Thanks so much for this! It’s great to know there are alternatives to the typical McDonald’s parties. Our house is small so having a party here for DS isn’t an option. I can’t wait to check out the venues you listed above. Thanks again!!!

My son’s birthday is in June and I’ve been thinking of ideas already and wanted to do something other than here at the house and after reading your blog I have great leads to pursue. Happy Acres sounds like it could be lots of fun.
    Thank you for the information
