We’re getting closer to Halloween but there’s still tons to do that doesn’t have a spooky theme. We’ll get back to that next week. For now here’s your Around Vancouver Town for this weekend. Vancouver Home and Design Show ~ until Oct 20th
The Vancouver Home + Design Show is the ultimate authority on all things design, entertaining and home improvement. With big names like W Network’s Jonathan and Drew Scott, stars of Property Brothers, Jillian Harris & Todd Talbot, hosts of Love It or List It Vancouver, and local favourites A Good Chick to Know, plus more than 325 exhibitors and a host of new and exciting features, there’s expert insight, innovation and inspiration for living well at every turn.
Getting There
There are various parking lots surrounding BC Place Stadium. Click here for an interactive parking map. Stadium-Chinatown Skytrain Station: located on Beatty at Dunsmuir in downtown Vancouver. Exit on Beatty, walk two blocks south to Terry Fox Plaza. Bike: There are bike lockups at Gate A, Gate C, and Gate G.

Sea to Sky Family Fair ~ Saturday Oct 19th
When kids walk into the Sea to Sky Family Fair they light right up. We have bouncy castles, balloons, face painting, games, all you need to keep them busy for hours!
For the grown ups we have over 40 exhibitors from fantastic companies with a family focus. Bring your questions to the experts, chat with local companies and get some shopping done! Check out our Northshore Community’s blog post for how to get there and for more details.

This tucked away little jewel is a favourite of mine. Serving up bistro-style lunch items, freshly made and seasonal salads and sandwiches surrounded by original oils by Sandra Forzani, owner, you’ll want to call this place home. They are open every day until 5pm, except on Sundays. There’s plenty of room for a few strollers but if you want to entertain the kiddies, bring your own fun.
We are hosting our first Mama’s Night Out at Vinci’s on November 14th! Learn about the art of potty training for your baby or toddler, meet other mamas and soak in the lovely ambiance.

WE Day ~ Friday Oct 18th, 9am start
We Day is part of a family of organizations, including Free The Children and Me to We, that has a shared goal: to empower a generation to shift the world from ‘me’ to ‘we’—through how we act, how we give, the choices we make on what to buy and what to wear, the media we consume and the experiences with which we choose to engage.
Tickets are free but you have to earn them through service in the community and Modern Mama is excited to say that we are attending WE Day this year! It’s going to be an inspirational, life changing day. Stay tuned for a blog post update.
