Celebrating Canada Day Every Day

Well Canada Day has come and gone but that doesn’t mean we need to stop celebrating everything we love about this great country. I hope to teach my children that Canada is a really special place to live and that we should be very grateful for the opportunities and freedoms that we enjoy — but since my kids are 5, 3 and 2 we are starting by appreciating the little things.

On Canada Day this year (July 1, 2016) we visited a local Show & Shine (Car Show) where we had the opportunity to meet with a few firefighters, explore the fire truck & meet with a paramedic and explore the ambulance and check out classic cars of course. On our way home from the festivities I explained to my children that they were really lucky to be able to interact with our local heroes and that we were all lucky to live in a great area.

Following the Show & Shine we went home to relax and have lunch before heading out to a BBQ at a friend’s house, while my hubby and youngest had a nap my boys and I sat down on the couch to enjoy some Netflix. And in keeping of the theme of all things Canadian we watched one of our favorite kid shows: Justin Time.

After doing a little research I found that these great shows are Canadian too — how awesome is that?!
