Chic & Charmed Boutique: A Teens Vision Come To Life

Chic & Charmed Boutique

There’s something special about a piece of jewelry that makes you feel like yourself — sparkly, put-together, and effortlessly stylish. For Chanelle Chalazan, that feeling is exactly what inspired her to build one of Canada’s most exciting emerging jewelry brands. At just 16 years old, Chanelle is the founder of Chic & Charmed Boutique, a nationally growing Canadian jewelry brand she launched when she was only 13.

The Spark Behind the Brand

Chic & Charmed Boutique

Chanelle grew up surrounded by entrepreneurship and a love of beautiful things. Her dad owns his own business, so watching someone build a company from scratch felt completely normal. Her mom? A lifelong lover of fashion, jewelry, and accessories. Chic & Charmed Boutique became the natural intersection of both worlds.

“Ever since I was little, I loved creating things — especially jewelry,” Chanelle shares on her website. “I would spend hours designing and making pieces for myself and my friends. When I realized how much joy it brought me and others, I knew I wanted to share it with the world.”

What started as a small passion project quickly gained real traction after early market appearances and local sales proved there was genuine demand. But Chanelle wasn’t just building a business — she was solving a problem she noticed firsthand: most jewelry was either expensive or cheap and poorly made. There was a gap in the middle, and she was determined to fill it.

Jewelry That Doesn’t Break the Bank (or Your Skin)

Chic & Charmed Boutique is built on a simple but powerful idea: everyone deserves to sparkle, regardless of their budget.

The collection — which includes earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings — is crafted from .925 sterling silver, a hypoallergenic material gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. Every piece is also waterproof, meaning you can wear your favorites to the beach, through a workout, or into a sudden rainstorm without a second thought.

Prices start around $15, with most pieces a fraction of what you’d pay at traditional jewelry retailers. Chanelle attributes this partly to the brand’s lean operating model — no storefronts, no large employee overhead — allowing her to pass those savings directly on to customers.

Growing Across Canada

What began in Saskatchewan has expanded dramatically. Chic & Charmed Boutique has made appearances at trade shows, women’s expos, bridal shows, and pop-up events across the country — from Saskatoon and Regina to Calgary, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Ottawa, and Toronto. Plans for even broader national expansion are already in the works.

The brand has also earned a loyal online following, shipping across Canada and the United States, with free standard shipping on Canadian orders over $99 and US orders over $199.

Recognition and Media Attention

Chanelle’s story hasn’t gone unnoticed. She’s been featured by CTV News, Global News, CityNews, SaskToday, C95 Radio, and Retail Insider, among others — all while still balancing high school. She’s also been spotlighted on podcasts and entrepreneur platforms celebrating young founders and women in business.

One of her proudest milestones? Winning a Saskatchewan Wedding Industry Award, which helped solidify Chic & Charmed’s reputation in the fashion and bridal space. Seeing Chic & Charmed billboards go up across Saskatchewan was another surreal moment — tangible proof of just how far the brand had come.

Beyond media coverage, Chanelle has stepped into the role of speaker and mentor, sharing her journey with entrepreneurship students at Centennial Collegiate in Saskatoon, Prince Philip School, and the Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan.

More Than Jewelry

For Chanelle, Chic & Charmed Boutique has grown into something bigger than a product. It’s become a platform for proving that age doesn’t define capability.

“Being a young female entrepreneur definitely came with challenges, especially when people underestimated me because of my age,” she says, “but I’ve learned to keep pushing forward and let my work speak for itself.”

Her message to other young entrepreneurs — especially young women — is clear: take action, put yourself out there, and keep going even when things feel uncertain.

At 16, Chanelle’s long-term vision is to grow Chic & Charmed into one of the most recognizable affordable jewelry brands in Canada. Looking at how far she’s come already, it’s hard to bet against her.
