Club Intrawest: Whistler with Kids

We recently made a last minute decision to head up to the mountains and visit Whistler for the weekend. We tried the Club Intrawest property for the first time.

The highlights of the resort for us were:

The water-slide and pool

The pool had a water-slide and the temperature was perfectly warm for the kids. We all enjoyed sliding into the extremely warm pool. The girls went down the slide repeatedly until we had to give the ‘5-slide-warning’. We used the pool, water-slide and hot-tub both daytime and evening. The girls thought it was particularly exciting in the dark. This is a baby/toddler friendly water-slide meaning you could very easily hold your child on your lap to ride the slide and the depth of the pool at the slide exit is only about 4 feet deep.

Location

Club Intrawest doesn’t have any dining-out options as it’s primarily a timeshare property and boasts large kitchens (fully stocked with all appliances and dishes). It is nestled in between the Four Seasons and the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, however, meaning we were able to enjoy the dining options at both hotels with a very short walk to each.

We are always on the hunt for family-friendly dining that appeals to both our kids and us. I’m not a fan of typical ‘family restaurants’ for the most part. Unfortunately I’ve found that, in Whistler, the restaurants in general aren’t very family friendly to begin with. Which is surprising, considering it’s a family destination.

But back to the topic at hand, the meal selections for both children and adults at both the Four Seasons Whistler and the Fairmont Chateau Whistler are amazing. Both offer children’s menus that include healthy options, drinks, smoothies, treats, great breakfast buffets and of course, great gourmet choices for adults as well. (more on this in a future post)

Spacious Room

We enjoyed a one-bedroom suite with full kitchen, dining room, living room (with a pull-out couch sectional large enough to fit all three of our girls for sleeping on!), balcony, large master with a giant jetted tub, king bed and one bathroom for us all to share.

My girls said it was the “Best Hotel Ever!” (Disclaimer: They say this every time we arrive at a hotel)

I doubt I’ll ever buy into a timeshare, but given the opportunity to book a room at Club Intrawest again, I would definitely do it. We enjoyed the property for our 2-night stay.
