Sweet Peas Cottage is a North Vancouver based Preschool/Daycare dedicated to creating an environment, both indoors and outdoors that encourages, supports and strives to foster the development of the whole child. Through their play-based program lead by educated, dedicated, loving staff, the children are given the opportunity to develop their social, emotional, physical and intellectual selves in a safe and caring child-centered environment. The facility is centrally located at 256 East 1st Street in North Vancouver and offers both an Infant/Toddler Program (0-36 months) and a 3-5 Program (“All Day Preschool”)(36 months to school age).

Sweet Peas Cottage is fortunate to have two buildings on one property. The Infant/Toddler building is a rebuilt 1912 heritage house. This unique setting provides a “home away from home” feel for your child’s first school/daycare experience.  The 3-5 program is located on the north of the property and is in a more modern space. This provides your child with the next phase in their child care experience in a more “school like” setting.

Advertising 1Sweet Peas Cottage offers many activities both at the centre and out in the community, including group time/circle time, cooperative projects, sensory & discovery activities, fine & gross motor activities, language arts, creative arts, outdoor games & activities, field trips, special educational guests, science & nature, health & wellness, cooking & baking, and journal & emergent writing/phonics.

Their unique program includes educational and fun extras like music and French and a hot lunch program. Their families enjoy events like bowling and skate nights, as well as a pumpkin carving night and parenting workshops & seminars. Being active in their community is a big part of their program. They use the John Braithwaite Community Centre gym, visit local playgrounds and parks, take daily community walks, and participate in community events such as The Christmas By the Sea Parade of Treat.
