Doubletree by Hilton Victoria Offers My Stay My Car Program

Doubletree by Hilton Victoria

I recently had the opportunity to visit Victoria with my family to try out the new initiative by the DoubleTree by Hilton Victoria, whereby they offer the use of a Toyota Prius during your stay. It’s called My Stay My Car.

This is a very handy option for those ferrying in from Seattle, or Pender Harbour, or landing in the harbour with Harbour Air, since the Doubletree by Hilton is only one block up from the harbour. The use of the car enables you to explore Victoria in ways you couldn’t if you didn’t already have a vehicle.

Several sites to see in and around Victoria require a vehicle since they’re about 20-30 minutes outside of the downtown core. See my next post on kid-friendly Victoria for a list of places to be sure to visit next time you’re in town with your My Stay My Car.

The process is easy. Within 24 hours of arrival, book directly through the hotel’s website or by calling reservations (1-800-774-1500) and asking for the MY STAY. MY CAR.™ package. When you arrive, you are asked to complete a 1-page rental agreement while checking into your room. Once completed, our guest services team will hand you two keys for your stay: 1 for your room and 1 for your car.

The other elements that make the Doubletree by Hilton Victoria a good family-friendly hotel choice in Victoria:

SUITES

If you’re like us and travel with three children, you know it’s not easy to fit into the typical hotel-room mold. Two queen bed standard hotel rooms don’t work for families of five and we often travel with an extra single fold up mattress just to fit-in. However, at the Doubletree there are plenty of room types to choose from. We spent the first two nights experiencing the Penthouse on the 17th floor (!!) and our third night in a two-bedroom suite on the sixteenth floor. Both were fantastic for us, spacious, two-bathrooms with comfortable beds. In the Penthouse we had two bedrooms plus a cot, and in the two-bedroom suite, we had a pull-out couch for the third kid in the living room.

DINING

There are some cool dining options at the Doubletree. We had breakfast at Table 21 in the morning and they offer both a buffet and menu options. The Traditional Eggs Benedict was delicious!

Bartholemew’s Pub is a traditional English style pub with a robust menu. We visited on St. Patrick’s Day and they had a fun, lively vibe, even with the kids. They have a complete kid’s menu as well. Mike and I went down to enjoy the bar once after our dinner there to cheers with a martini. Doubletree by Hilton Victoria just can’t disapoint, it is filled with an amazing selection for anyone looking to fill their bellies first thing in the morning or after a great sleep in.

In-room dining is so convenient with kids, AMIRIGHT, no restaurant shenanigans required! We ordered in one evening just to kick-back and relax after a day of sight-seeing.

LOCATION

Grab snacks downstairs of Doubletree by Hilton Victoria, in the lobby area anytime, sit in the lobby lounge, use the hotel computers to check-in for your return flight, and walk to the harbour all right from this great spot.

This looks lovely and what a great idea with the addition of the car. LOVE THIS! We still need to get to Victoria as a family. It’s sad to think we’ve not been all together.
