Well you have survived the first week of back-to-school and now it is time to have some family fun to celebrate! There are so many wonderful family friendly activities happening this weekend in Edmonton and if you are spending the long weekend in town, you will want to check these out!

Symphony in the City

The Disney Movies, Fantasia& Fantasia 2000 will come to live at the Symphony in the City; you will enjoy a large screen screening accompanied by the musical styling of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.

Star Party

The 10th annual Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve Star Party is happening again this year and is going to be bigger and better than it has been in the past! There will be guest speakers, presentations, displays and activities during this two day celebration.

When: September 5 + 6  | 2 pm to 11 pm
Where: Miquelon Lake Provincial Park (September 5th) | Elk Island National Parks Canada Agency (September 6th)

Edmonton Corn Maze

The Edmonton Corn Maze is open for their 15th season and they offer fun for the whole family!

When: Now through October
Where: 26171 Garden Valley Rd, Spruce Grove
Cost: General Admission: $11 | Children age 5 – 11: $9 | Children under 5: FREE

Harvest Fair

Go back in time and see how the pioneers got ready for the winter months with the Harvest Fair!

When: September 5 to 7 | 11 am to 5 pm
Where: Fort Edmonton Park
Cost: Regular Admission Applies

Sweet Corn Fest

The Sweet Corn Festival is a family event that celebrates all things corn; there will be a corn eating contest, corn mazes, corny jokes, activities and more!

When: September 5 to 7 | 10 am to 6 pm
Where: Prairie Gardens Adventure Farm
Cost: Regular Admission Applies

BBQ & Corn Roast

Join Honourable Deron Bilous, MLA for Edmonton-Beverly-Clareview for his annual BBQ & Corn Roast; there will be food, fun and family activities!

When: September 5 | 1 to 3 pm
Where: Homesteader Community League
Cost: FREE

Community Festival

The Community Festival will feature local culture, entertainment, food and fun for the entire family including retail and food vendors, a beer garden, tourist attractions, big screen coverage of the race, hands on activities for both adults and children, a bike trials stunt show, live entertainment, a pump track loop, award ceremony with jersey presentations and more!

When: Sunday, September 6 | 11 am to 5 pm
Where: Central Park (450 King Street), Spruce Grove
Cost: FREE
