I’m sure you have heard about Welcome Wagon at some point in your life, it’s a Canadian owned company that has been around since 1930! You might not have seen much of them in the way of welcoming babies though, because for the past 8 years the St. Albert & Area program has been closed. All of that changed when local mom and community member Nina Atkinson Tchir took over last year and revitalized this awesome program for mom & baby! As Nina puts it “this is a little more than just a basket to me”!
What is the Welcome Wagon Birth of Baby Program?
- A way to connect you with the community that you live in! If this is your first baby or you have quite a gap between children you might not know all of the baby friendly services and businesses that are available to you in our area.
- Local representative, Nina, conveniently comes to your home with a huge basket full of samples, coupons, gift certificates and other special freebies just for you and your family. She will also walk you through many of the mom and baby friendly services available that Welcome Wagon works with.
- Something to look forward to! In the months after having a baby, it can get lonely. Your partner is likely back at work, baby has an unpredictable sleep schedule and you are adjusting to a major lifestyle change. Welcome Wagon can help with their friendly home visit and basket of goodies!
Who can join the Welcome Wagon Birth of Baby Program and get a free basket of goodies?
- Any parent who is expecting or has a baby 6 months or younger, this does not have to be your first baby!
- You must live in St. Albert, Sturgeon County, Starling at Big Lake, Lancaster Park, Onoway, Morinville, Fort Saskatchewan, Bon Accord, Gibbons or close to these communities. Edmonton residents (other than those in Starling are not eligible).
