Are you an Urban or Suburban Mama, where do you live?
I am a Suburban Mama, I live in Abbotsford with my husband and my two children.
Tell us about your children?
I have a beautiful little girl named Kalli who turns 7 in November and the sweetest little boy named Jude who turns 2 in November.
Tell us about your typical weekday?
Being a stay home Mom, entrepreneur and staying on top of my battle with Lyme Disease is definitely a full time gig. During the week I drop my daughter off at school (Grade 2) then I have to keep my son busy, usually a walk to the park after drop off, errands, e-mails, phone calls and a few times a week I am grateful to have help from my Mom and Mother-in-Law who watch my son while I take care of my health (IV’s, Reiki, acupuncture, chiropractor, workouts, doctor appointments, etc.) We also keep my daughter busy with activities such as dance, Brownies, swimming lessons, playdates, etc.
Do you have help?
I am so grateful to live 5 minutes away from my Mom and my in-laws who help with the kids so much!
Who cooks dinner?
I cook dinner Monday-Friday and my husband cooks on the weekend (he is more of the chef than I am but I am really good at making Buddha bowls lol)
How often do you buy something just for you?
Lately I feel I have bought myself something at least once a week since loosing 50 pounds on a plant based diet I have needed new clothes and so I was in need of some new summer clothes and now I need some fall clothes. I also love to treat myself to a plant based lunch every once in a while, I tend to frequent Habit Juice in Abbotsford for a cold pressed juice or smoothie or my new favorite plant based spot in Langley called Leef & Stem. I have become a bit of a plant based foodie so I really enjoy checking out new spots to get some inspiration (Vancouver has so many amazing spots too)
Do you exercise regularly and if so, what and how do you fit it in?
I try to go for as many walks as I can to move my body, now that school is back in I am excited to get back into the routine. I walk up a very steep hill every morning and afternoon to get my daughter to school while pushing my son in the stroller so I find that’s a good workout and after I drop her off I continue on a walk with my son and put my headphones in and zone out for a bit. I have slowly been starting to do some weight training again with my friend Brittany who has a fabulous little gym called Bunkerhill Strength in Abbotsford.
What clothing lines or stores do you like to buy for your children?
I must say I tend to get most of my kids clothes from Old Navy!
I’m totally obsessed with…
These days I am pretty obsessed with learning everything there is about healing, health and holistic medicine as well as discovering delicious plant based restaurants and recipes!
Three things in my purse right now are…
- On Guard spray hand sanitizer by DoTerra
- My Daughter natural fragrance (My Wild scent)
- K’pure Smooch vanilla chapstick
My favourite drugstore buy is…
Burts Bee’s eyebrow pencil in blonde.
My guilty pleasure is…
Organic Coconut Bliss dairy free ice-cream
