As a parent child care is going to be one of the most important things to your family. Ensuring your children are in an environment that not only makes them feel comfortable and safe but also prepares them for when school begins. Getting those routines and systems down will be immensely helpful and make them feel at ease in the classroom. About Kids in the Grove
Kids in the Grove is a fully licensed, inclusive, and insured child care center for children ages 3-12. They are located in beautiful Langley BC operating out of Topham and West Langley elementary schools. Offering preschool, junior kindergarten, and school age childcare programs they have options to suit any family.
Creating a warm, safe environment where children are able to explore through education, play, and creativity is essential for development. Inclusivity is incredibly important to Kids in the Grove and their team. They work closely with the Langley Child Development Centre and The Ministry of Education to welcome families and their own personal assistance (B.I., SEA, B.A) to ensure every child has all of their needs met.
Kids in the Grove Programs
Kids in the Grove has been approved for the CCFRI (Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative). This means families with children ages 2 Years to Kindergarten attending their Daycare program at Topham over the summer months will receive up to $550 off their monthly fees! During the school year September to June, Kinder families will also receive this funding.
Preschool
Starting at the age of 3 children can enroll in the Kids in the Grove preschool program. Their daily schedule consists of circle time, free play, snack, outdoor play, and more depending on if they’re half day or full day. You can expect an in classroom ratio of 3 staff to 20 preschoolers!

Jr Kindergarten
At the age of 4 children move into the Jr Kindergarten program! Preparing themselves for entering into kindergarten using the Ministry of BC Early Learning Framework in combination with fun, adventure, and creativity. By the end of this program their aim is to have your child be able to recognize colors, shapes, numbers, letters and the ability to write them on paper, write their own name, and use their own words to solve a problem, speak up more, talk to their peers, and ask questions.
Six key Jr Kindergarten activities at Kids in the Grove :
Phonics Programs
Students learn to write, pronounce & recognize letters of the alphabet using songs, stories and sign language
One on One Work/Mathematics
- Teachers work with students practicing their sequencing, basic adding & subtracting using toys, practicing their patterns with toys
- Teachers use flashcards to review number recognition
One on One Work/Phonics
- Teachers work with each student, reviewing letters using large phonics alphabet practice sheets
- Students pronounce/sound out the letter and the word/picture coinciding with the letter on the sheet
- Students draw the letter and color the picture
