WIBIT at the West Van Community Centre pool!
There are LOTS of free & low cost events & activities happening this weekend for families on the North Shore and nearby. This weekend’s line-up includes Lego Garden Building, CityFest, WIBIT pool event, Bellies to Babies Celebration and more. Sat, May 4th (10am-4pm) – Help Build A Lego Garden at Park Royal!
Location: Park Royal Shopping Centre, 800 Marine Drive, West Vancouver
Details: Calling all LEGO lovers! Join Park Royal and LEGO Certified Professional, Robin Sather, every Saturday in May to help build a huge garden out of LEGO bricks. Plus, watch the master in action as he constructs giant flowers and insects out of LEGO. May 4 & 11, Park Royal North, Centre Court; May 18 & 25 – Park Royal South, Centre Court. FREE ADMISSION!
Sat, May 4th (12pm-4pm) – 10th Annual CityFEST
Location: Lonsdale Skate Park (23rd & Lonsdale Ave), North Vancouver
Details: The Youth of the North Shore present the 10th anniversary of CityFEST, their biggest festival yet! Celebrate at one of the Lower Mainland’s largest Youth Week Events – CityFEST. This year you will find food booths and a BBQ (with free food for youth 24 years old and under), a showcase with live music and dance, a fashion show, youth art, and a photobooth. There will be live coverage from 102.7 The Peak, prizes and games. The skateboard competition will be amped up with the City’s first ever longboard race, starting at Moody and Grand Boulevard and ending at the skate park. Check out the always explosive freestyle skate competition. FREE ADMISSION!
Sat, May 4 (5-7pm) – The Pool WIBIT Has Arrived – Free Trial!
Location: West Vancouver Community Centre, West Van
Details: The main pool will be closed from 2:30 – 5pm for the lifeguard WIBIT competition, the public can enjoy a free trial of the equipment from 5-7 pm, and the equipment will remain the pool for the public swim from 7-10pm. Looks like fun!
Sat, May 4 – June 16 (various times & pricing) – Children & Family Movement Classes
Location: Leap Therapy for Kids, 1093 Roosevelt Crst, North Vancounver
Details: Movement classes at Leap Therapy for Kids are designed to get everyone moving, improve strength, flexibility and balance, and have lots of fun! Six-week series community classes include Mother Daughter Yoga (ages 10+), Parent & Youth Yoga (ages 10+), Dance! (ages 3-6), Yoga Munchkins (ages 3-6).
