The Beaches Resort in the Turks & Caicos is currently named the number one hotel for families in the Caribbean, Bermuda & the Bahamas category by Travel & Leisure Magazine (November 2014).
Here are a few reasons why you should plan your next warm-weather family vacation at this beautiful resort.
1 | You Can’t Beat This Beach
Grace Bay Beach is 12 miles of luscious, fine, pale sand and sparkling clear water with small waves, perfect for walking, exploring, splashing and swimming. The resort takes up a few miles of this beach with four villages, hundreds of rooms and over ten swimming pools (plus so much more, read on).
2 | Unlimited … Everything
You’ve heard of ‘All-Inclusive’ – but this is the Ultra version, with brand name “top shelf” liquor, Beringer wines, 19 restaurants, 14 bars, activities, food, childcare, watersports, ALL included and unlimited. I couldn’t possibly experience all that was offered in my brief stay.
3 | Dining Options Galore
Beaches Turks & Caicos offers 19 restaurants throughout the resort. Italian, casual, fine-dining, Japanese, a creperie, ice cream shop, plenty of seaside choices and more. You could be here for a week and try something new each day. They also cater to special dietary needs such as allergies and gluten-free choices.
4 | 45,00 Square Foot Waterpark
The waterpark is free and included. It offers a lazy river, 10 waterslides, splash area for littles, even a brand-new SurfStream Surf simulator the kids can get some boogy boarding practice on.
5 | Kids Camp
Beaches offers camps and programs with accredited nannies for 0-17 year olds daily, all day. This is included at every accommodation level, so you won’t be surprised with extra fees or charges upon arrival. I visited the baby care room (not shown), toddler play room (above) and private, enclosed play area (below) to have a look for myself. There was one infant and three nannies in the baby room (0-walking) when I arrived. It was extremely clean and well kept. Their programs are broken up in groups: Infant – walking, 1-2.5 years, 3-4 years, 5-7 years, 8-10 years and 11-17 years, all with organized activities, outings, crafts, games, and stage shows.
6 | Luxury
If you’re looking for luxury, look no further. You can book anything from a basic double room to a 4 bedroom house with private pool and butler service (which starts at a cool $1892 per adult per night). I was lucky enough to experience the concierge level one bedroom suite which included a fully stocked-with-liquor and wine full sized kitchen, dining and living room plus a bed with trundle, king bedroom, washer/dryer, en-suite plus powder room. Beaches offers more inclusions than any other all-inclusive hotel chain in the Caribbean.
7 | Accommodations For The Whole Family
Every suite includes an Xbox 360, many family rooms have bunk beds, you can stay as a family with one child or five, it’s all available. If you’re traveling with grandparents, a nanny, kidless friends, or a large group of friends, the fact that Beaches has so many room types translates into easy planning for you.
8 | Sandals Foundation
The Sandals Foundation is a charitable organization created by Sandals (Beaches) Resorts to support Community, Education and Environment throughout the Caribbean. They have raised millions of dollars and every dollar goes back to their causes. On this visit, for Social Media On The Sand, most of us moms in attendance brought down school supplies for Pack For A Purpose to help local schools in the Caribbean. It feels amazing to give back, and it’s as simple as bringing some school supplies with you on your next vacation to a Beaches Resort.
9 | Watersports
All water sports are included and unlimited. You can enjoy scuba diving, paddle boards, snorkelling, hobie kats, windsurfing, aquatrikes, it’s all here. Children as young as 8 can even take scuba lessons. We tried the boat tour to Little Water Cay and viewed many iguanas on the island and jumped into the amazing (bath-temp!) water.
10 | Sesame Street
Beaches has partnered with Sesame Street for over 10 years to bring fun to the resort. Book an in-room story time, see the Parade, stage show, even character breakfasts are available.
It was an amazing visit and I was sad to leave. My family will be sure to visit Beaches Resorts in the future!
* I attended Social Media On The Sand as a guest of Beaches Resort at a discounted rate. All opinions are my own.
