Recipe: Guinness Chocolate Cake

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

What better to way to celebrate St. Patty’s day then with Guinness Chocolate Cake!

You will need:

1 cup Guinness

1 cup + 1 tablespoon Butter

3/4 cup Cocoa

1 3/4 cups white Sugar

1/2 cup Sour Cream

2 Eggs

1 tablespoon Vanilla

2 cups Flour

2 1/2 teaspoons Baking Soda

What to do:

~ Preheat oven to 350 degrees

~ Grease and flour a 9″ Spring form pan

~ Pour Guinness & butter into pot; stirring over low heat until butter is melted. Once melted, whisk in cocoa and sugar.

~ In separate bowl beat sour cream, eggs & vanilla.

~ Add sour cream mixture to Guinness mixture and stir.

~ Next add flour and baking soda; stir until combined.

~ Pour batter into pan and place in the oven for 45 to 60 mins.

~ Remove cake from oven and allow it to cool in pan for at least an hour.

Cream Cheese Frosting

1 package of softened Cream Cheese

3 cups icing sugar

3 tablespoons of milk  OR Irish Cream Liqueur

Splash of vanilla
