When the Vancouver International Children’s Festival arrives, Granville Island really comes to life! With four fantastic indoor theatre venues, a big-top tent and a bustling arts activity village, the Kids Fest site becomes your family’s playground.

2014 PERFORMANCE LINEUP

A Circus in Wonderland (BC) – A dynamic, theatrical circus interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s classic, “Through the Looking Glass.”

Erth Dinosaur Zoo (Australia) – Kids get up close and personal with gigantic (but friendly) dinosaur puppets in this amazing performance.

Fred Penner (MB) – A national treasure, Fred Penner is one of Canada’s best-loved children’s singers.

In Abundance (BC) – In this glorious visual feast, Gitxsan dancers wearing elaborate button blankets and masks celebrate the importance of the salmon.

Invis’BALL (Israel) – This upbeat theatre-dance show transforms the stage into a dynamic soccer field.

Kaput (Australia) – A hilarious mix of chaos, comedy and acrobatics that will charm children and adults alike.

Le Groupe Swing (ON) –  A fusion of fast fiddling, RnB, rock and traditional French-Canadian music that will get kids up and dancing!

The Frog King (Germany) – Watch the classic Grimms’ fairytale come to life under the masterful hand of puppeteer Matthias Kuchta.

The Great Gazzoon (BC) – A delightful musical folk tale about the power of music and facing your fears.

Variety Show! – Festival performers cut loose at our annual must-see smorgasbord of show highlights.

Where I Live (QC)  ­– An innovative play created specifically to be a child’s first theatrical experience.
