If you have visited the International Children’s Festival in the past you may be familiar with Toddler Town, an area dedicated to children four and under. In past years my little ones have loved attending Toddler Town and I love that they are able to go to a mini festival just for them! And even better yet, Toddler Town has expanded this year so that your little ones will have even more activities to explore.
This whimsical little town features storytelling, musical performances, colourful stamping stations, an exploration and free play area with hula hoops, balls and soft tumbling mats, family games, a parachute and more! And if you are looking for a quiet place to rest, feed baby, change a diaper or just take a minute to organize your crew; head over to the Mommy Lounge (Dad’s are welcome too!) for as long as you need.
Michelle and Friends will perform engaging toe-tapping classics that will have kids dancing and clapping along with enjoyment, and you can find their performance schedule here!
Local puppeteers and award-winning actresses, Kate and Maralyn Ryan, will mesmerize tots with an array of colourful characters in their wonderfully fun adaptation of The Frog Prince. You can find their show times here!
The St. Albert Public Library will have toddlers getting hooked on books while letting their imaginations soar with interactive tales, songs and puppets! You can find the Story time schedule here.
If you like to dance be sure to visit Miss Olenka’s Barn Dance, where you’ll find Farmer Bob, his party-animal pals and your favourite blue chicken, Miss Olenka herself, grooving to both old and new Top 40 hits! Find their schedule here.
Celebrating 35 years in northern Alberta, the 2016 International Children’s Festival of the Arts is one of the biggest and longest-running children’s festivals in North America. Over the course of the Festival, eight Feature Performances representing four countries (Canada, Guinea, Netherlands and United States), will entertain various audiences over seventy five shows! Along with fifteen hands-on, interactive Site Activities and Toddler Town, the Children’s Festival fosters a lifelong appreciation and understanding for authentic arts experiences.
