With this being one of the last weekends before the fall routine begins, it is a great time to explore local happenings in Edmonton and surrounding areas. With so many options, you can make it a day trip or spend a couple hours out of the house, either way there is a little something for everyone!

Ellwood Block Party

The Agriculture and Food Council of Alberta is hosting a block party complete with prizes, activities, zumba, shopping and more!

Alberta Open Farm Days

Farms across Alberta open their doors so that “we” can take a look at what they do and where our food comes from, there are various locations opening across Alberta and among them are Northlands and Prairie Gardens.

Activities at Northlands include: a mini animal farm, dummy roping, face painting, demonstrations, urban farm tours, workshops, rural farm tours and farm to plate dining. Costs vary with the majority of activities being free or low cost. Event date is August 21.

Activities at Prairie Gardens Adventure Farm include petting farm, complimentary kids corn maze admission, u-pick vegetables, train rides, gem mining and more! Admission is FREE on August 21 to celebrate, however there is a small fee for activities.

Sherwood Ford Car Show – Race Day

Sherwood Ford is pleased to present their 6th annual all Ford Classic Car Show, combined with their annual Castrol Raceway Customer Appreciation Day and  K97’s Gear for Guys. It is sure to be an exciting day with fun for the whole family, you can find all the details here.

Lemonade Stand Day

Simply Supper Helps and their youngest volunteers have teamed up to support the Stollery Children’s Hospital via lemonade stands. There are over 100 lemonade stands across Edmonton and area that will be accepting donations/selling Lemonade and you can find the full list here.
