Don’t get me wrong, this *could* be a family car if you have a small family and don’t need a ton of cargo space. It’s a fun, light, fast and small car that will get you around the city in a dash and can still accommodate a car seat or older child or two in the back seat (it only seats 4 total, however!)
The Hyundai Veloster N is a fast hatchback priced at CAD $35,049 with manual transmission and all the fun speedster buttons and only uses 10.6 L/100 KM.
What We Loved
It feels like a sports car, because it is. At 275hp 6-speed manual transmission and a sport mode that stiffens up the suspension, steering and transmission even harder, even when you’re toting a kid or two. When you’re alone, it might even feel like back in your single days.
AppleCarPlay offers the convenience of using voice-to-text (or call, of course), using your own music playlists and Maps, which we can’t live without! It’s standard on the Veloster N; as is Android Auto connectivity, all with a touchscreen infotainment system. An “8 touchscreen is standard.
The lux touches like blue seat belts, leather-wrapped steering and shift knob make you feel a little more special than just any ‘ole sporty hatchback.
You can customize the N Mode with your preferred settings, which feels a little high-tech racing meets daily driver for the enthusiast driver.
There are 3 doors, yes THREE! The left (driver) side of the car has just one door, but the passenger side has two!
What Does This FUN Cost?
Starting at $35,049 and includes all of the premium features as listed above, I love that there isn’t a premium price for every option.
Can This Speedster Cart Your Family?
Sure, why not? If you lead life in the city and don’t have a need for more than 2 passengers (read: kids) for the backseat, this could be the perfect (and economical) fun family drive.
