15 Simple Christmas Cookie Recipes

Baking during the Christmas season is an absolute must! While I’m not someone who bakes on a regular basis I can’t wait to make all the cookies when the holidays roll around. Even though I went to culinary school I didn’t exactly thrive making desserts so I tend to choose simple but delicious Christmas cookie recipes and I’m sharing my favorites with you! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

 

1. Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

I’m a sucker for anything chocolate and these cookies are absolutely delicious! I love the soft chewy texture with the powdered sugar on top that gives a festive vibe.

 

2. Clodhoppers

While I don’t think these are technically a Christmas Cookie this is my number one recipe I make every year. Even when I don’t go all out I will never pass up making them! Incredibly easy and fast to make ( no bake!) and a crowd pleaser. Bring to any holiday event!

3. Grinch Cookies

These are sure to bring a smile to anybody’s face. We love a festive Christmas cookie and this is it! Again an easy recipe with ingredients you likely have around the house.

4. Hot Chocolate Cookies

Who doesn’t love hot chocolate during the holidays!? Put that into cookie form and they are sure to be a winner. This recipe using hot chocolate mix which I’m sure we all have an abundance of during the Winter.

As a massive peppermint fan these are one of my favorites. This probably one of the more complicated cookies ( but still easy!) that I make but they are more than worth it.

6. Whipped Shortbread Cookies

You can’t go wrong with a Christmas cookie classic like shortbread. The whipped version just melts in your mouth. Get creative with different sprinkles!

7. Snowball Cookies

With only 4 ingredients this is as simple as it gets! Love a recipe that is so easy even your kiddos could make them on their own.

8. Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

Peanut butter cookies are a year round staple but this recipe shows you how to add some Christmas spirit!

9.  Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

This cookie was a hit in my cookie box last year. The brown butter adds in an amazing depth of flavor! Once you make them this way there is no going back.

10. Oreo Balls

We love a no bake recipe when you are on a roll making Christmas cookies ( frees up the oven) This one is only 3 ingredients and lets you have fun with decorating.

11. Snickerdoodle Cookies

There is something about cinnamon that reminds me of the holidays. The tasty snickerdoodle is an great addition to your baking with its chewy texture and easy recipe.

12. Gingerdoodle Sandwich Cookies

These are a fun twist on a snickerdoodle. They combine both a ginger bread and snickerdoodle together into a delicious sandwich cookie with a cinnamon buttercream. Yum!

13. White Chocolate Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies

Oatmeal cookies are a staple in our household. I love this twist of adding in white chocolate and cranberry to add in some sweetness and texture.

14. Cranberry Bliss Bar

This Starbucks copy cat recipe is bang on! I’m obsessed with these delicious desserts and eat many many of them during the holidays.

15. Sugar Cookies

We obviously couldn’t possibly leave out sugar cookies. These are what my kids look forward to making every year. Nothing beats decorating cookies as a family.
