Oh Canada! “Get Closer” as we celebrate Canada’s 151st birthday and the Edmonton Valley Zoo’s birthday as well! At the big birthday bash, take part in our scavenger hunt, enjoy live music and learn about all of our Canadian animal friends! Don’t forget to sing Happy Birthday and enjoy a mini cupcake!

Canada Day Concert In The Park
Cosmopolitan Music Society hosts a yearly Canada Day event, and this year we’re celebrating bigger and better than ever before! Listen as they play music that will set the day’s mood for the fireworks show that will be held in the evening by the City of Edmonton and will brighten the night sky. There’s lots to see, do, and listen to, so come out and take part in the festivities this Canada Day!

Mill Woods Canada Day Celebration
This community celebration is filled with family-friendly fun including a petting zoo, live entertainment, hayrides and carnival games, and fireworks.

Explore Sand on Whyte
Visit “The Intentional Beach” at Boardwalk Sand on Whyte. Be amazed by the sand sculptures created by Canadian sand carving artists that tells our river city story.
Join us on Canada Day for a picnic at the beach. Just bring your picnic basket and a blanket for some outdoor fun and live music at the Intentional Beach.

Canada Day at Elk Island Park
After a morning of wildlife watching take in a flag raising and cake at the Astotin Lake Recreation area and join park staff for summer programs; kids are out of school and we’re ready for a summer of fun with programs for all ages!

Fireworks
Enjoy the magnificent fireworks display over Edmonton’s river valley parks and the North Saskatchewan River.
