Canada Day in Edmonton + Area

It is that time of year again, where we celebrate all things Canada on our dear Country’s 150th birthday! And because there are so many wonderful Canada Day Celebrations taking place in and around Edmonton again this year, I give you this list:

Canada Day at the Alberta Legislature

Canada Day at the Legislature is a celebration that honours Alberta’s history and diversity through entertainment and activities for all ages. There will be live performances, a pancake breakfast, Canada Day Celebration cake, a citizenship ceremony, and a road race.

When: 10 am to 7 pm
Where: Alberta Legislature, Edmonton
Cost: FREE

Canada Day at the Art Gallery

Spend Canada’s 150th at the Art Gallery of Alberta!

When: 11 am to 5 pm
Where: 2 Sir Winston Churchill Square, Edmonton
Cost: FREE Admission

Celebrate Canada Day at City Hall

Celebrate Canada Day at City Hall, there will be live music and dancing, performances,  activities, City Hall tours,  and more!

When: 11 am to 6 pm
Where: City Hall, Edmonton
Cost: FREE

Canada Day at the Edmonton Valley Zoo

Celebrate Canada Day, the Zoo’s Birthday and Lucy’s Birthday, with mini cupcakes, live music, family activities and more!

When: 11 am to 4 pm
Where: Edmonton Valley Zoo, Edmonton
Cost: Regular Admission applies

Canada Day at the Devonian Botanic Garden

Celebrate Canada Day at the beautiful Devonian Botanic Garden, there will be musical entertainment, kids in the garden activities, insect catching, cake, and more!

When: 11 am to 3 pm
Where: Devonian Botanic Garden
Cost: Regular Admission Applies

Canada Day at the Muttart Conservatory

Enjoy Canada Day at the Muttart Conservatory with live entertainment, Canada Day crafts, face painting, treats, activities and more!

When: 10 am to 3 pm
Where: Muttart Conservatory, Edmonton
Cost: Regular Admission applies

Canada Day Celebration

The Belmead Community Leauge invites you to enjoy a BBQ supplied by  MLA Jon Carson, face painting, a magic show, carnival games, a balloon artist, fireworks, and Mojo photo will be onsite.

When: Starting at 5 pm

Canada Day Carnival

The MAC Islamic Centre invites you to Celebrate Eid and Canada Day with free food, games, activities, jumping castles, fireworks, and much more!

When: 4:30 pm to 10:30 pm
Where: Talmud Torah Sports Field (64ave and 176th St).
Cost: FREE

Canada Day with the Edmonton Prospects

Enjoy the Edmonton Prospects game which will be followed by live entertainment and a great view of the fireworks display.

When: Parking Lot opens at 5:3o pm | Doors at 6 pm
Where: Telus Field, Edmonton
Cost: $18 Adults | $10 Kids aged 6 to 12 | FREE for kids under six

Dominion Day

Celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Confederation of Canada, Dominion Day. There will be an authentic parade, live entertainment and a variety of activities (July 1 + 2 + 3).

When: 10 am to 5 pm
Where: Fort Edmonton Park, Edmonton
Cost: Regular Admission applies

Canada Day 2017 Party in the Park!

The Castle Downs Community League is hosting the party of the year to celebrate Canada’s 150th! There will be face painting, balloon fairies, watermelon, music, the spray park, the playground, music, and much much more!

When: 12 pm to 4 pm (Kid Friendly) | 5 pm to 10:30 pm (Beer Gardens) | 10:30 pm Fireworks

Mill Woods Celebrates Canada Day

Head down to Mill Woods Park to celebrate Canada Day with hay rides, a petting zoo, carnival games, live entertainment, children’s activities, fireworks, and more!

Canada Day Heritage Chinatown Night Market

Enjoy Canada Day Evening Celebrations in Edmonton’s Heritage Chinatown; there will be a Street Market, Cultural Performances, and more!

Bonnie Doon Centre

Bonnie Doon Centre invites you to celebrate Canada’s 150th with a virtual reality hockey game, photo booth, crafts, activities and more!

The Heritage Valley Spectacular

South Pointe Community Centre invities you to enjoy Live bands including “The Royal Foundry”, “Jumpy Things” for the kids; food trucks, fantastic fireworks and so much more.

Canada Day Fireworks Finale

Enjoy a fireworks display over Edmonton’s River Valley and the North Saskatchewan River.

Outdoor Pools

All of the City of Edmonton Outdoor Pools are offering FREE admission on Canada Day (and for the rest of the 2017 season)!

 

Beaumont

Celebrate Canada’s sesquicentennial in Beaumont; festivities begin with an official kick-off ceremony featuring local dignitaries, O Canada and celebratory cake in Four Seasons Park, followed by live entertainment, photo booth, games, activities, and more!

When: 8 am to 11:30 pm (Fireworks at 11 pm) |  Activities are taking place on June 30, July 1 + July 2 (Various Times)

Devon

Celebrate Canada Day with a West Coast Lumberjack Show, live music and cultural entertainment, Antique fire truck rides, Multicultural Booths, Kidzone, Complimentary hot dogs and cake, Dunk Tank, Picnic and water games, Photo booth, Watermelon eating contest, Food trucks, and more!

Fort Saskatchewan

Celebrate Canada Day in Fort Saskatchewan with a Pancake Breakfast, Parade, Show & Shine, RC Demos, Yoga, Family activities, fireworks and more!

Leduc

Celebrate Canada Day in Leduc with a Pancake Breakfast, Parade, Flag Raising, BBQ, Family Carnival, Live Entertainment, and more!

St. Albert

Spruce Grove

Celebrate Canada Day in Spruce Grove with a variety of activities through out the day; there will be a pancake breakfast, live entertainment, crafts, face painting, kids zone, the opening of the spray park, heritage tent,  fireworks and so much more!

When:  Starts at 9 am, Fireworks at 11 pm, Activities at various times in between
Where: Jubilee Park, Spruce Grove
Cost: FREE

Strathcona County

Enjoy the Canada Day festival that offers a little something for everyone; including pancake breakfast, family activities, performances, fun, fireworks and more!

When:  Pancake Breakfast starts at 9 am, Fireworks at 11 pm, Various activities happening throughout the day
Where: Sherwood Park
Cost: Most activities are free, some require tickets

Canada Day Parade (Sherwood Park)

The Sherwood Park & District Chamber of Commerce is proud to host the Canada Day Parade.
When: Starting at 10 am
Where: Sherwood Park
Cost: FREE
