Compassion in Spruce Grove

Today I heard about a wonderful group of ladies doing some amazing things in our community and I just had to share. Gina, Mylan, and Kayla run Compassionate Connections and help families in need in the Spruce Grove area. They operate solely on donated items and can provide families with basic necessities such as formula and diapers all the way to some household items. I saw their post today on Facebook about an upcoming event and was immediately drawn in. I have always been fortunate enough that my little family has a wonderful place to call home and that our tummy’s only growl when I am running behind on cooking supper.  When I tuck my little girl in at night I know I will never have to worry about her being cold. You always see things in the news about less fortunate people in different parts of the world but I think sometimes we forget that these people and families exist in our own communities. Don’t get me wrong, it is very sad to see what is going on in places like Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, and Burundi. These countries desperately need help and helping out in your own community is actually a great place to start. I am a firm believer in how kindness can be spread as people start to pay it forward. With that being said Compassionate Connections will be hosting a fundraising garage sale on August 9 from 10 AM-3PM in Central Park in Spruce Grove. Proceeds will go towards buying items that aren’t generally donated such as formula and diapers. If you cannot attend the sale there are many other ways that you can help out! Please check out Compassionate Connections on Facebook and see what you can do today! Hope to see my wonderful Modern Mamas lending a hand.
