Giveaway ~ Bard on the Beach
There are so many options for date nights in Vancouver that it is sometimes difficult to choose. And with a foggy mom brain to contend with well, that’s why you’re here, isn’t it? Modern Mama understands. One of the ways to enjoy the summer in Vancouver is to take advantage of the weather every chance we get. And while we’ve seen rain come and go now for a couple of days now I am hopeful. Hopeful that fall doesn’t come too soon and hopeful that we get a nice long stretch of warm weather before the damp settles in. One way you can make sure to soak in every last bit of summer weather is by taking in a show. And while sitting in a dark movie theatre is not my idea of a great way to spend a summer evening, escape from foggy mom brain is. How about taking in a show in a beautiful outdoor setting, perhaps ordering in a picnic to be ready when you arrive and sipping wine while you absorb a fine bit of theatre. Of course I’m talking about Bard on the Beach.
Win Tickets to Bard on the Beach
Bard on the Beach never disappoints. I went to see a performance with my sweetie the other week and was so impressed that I want to share the experience with you. That’s why Modern Mama has partnered up with Bard on the Beach to offer a fantastic opportunity to take in a performance of Twelfth Night.
Tips to Make your Bard on the Beach Experience Great
1.Order a picnic dinner 48 hours in advance and then pick it up in the Bard Village starting one hour prior to showtime. Choices include a freshly-made turkey, brie and pesto sandwich with fresh salads and a chocolate chip cookie OR Greek chicken and feta roulade with roasted vegetables, pickled asparagus and cardamon hand pie OR Szechuan wild BC sockeye salmon with soba noodles, sesame ginger marinated vegetable salad. Vegetarian options are also available.
2. Dress casually and bring a sweater or jacket as the temperature drops after sunset.
3. Wear comfortable shoes. The grounds are often damp and stilletto heels just won’t do.
4. Order your intermission drinks ahead of time, that way you don’t need to stand in line and can enjoy the night view of the city.
5. Make sure to take advantage of the pre-show talk that provides insight into the plot line.

I am expecting my first little one this late Fall, and I would love a date night with my hubby before I get too big and even more tired than I already am with daily swelling in my hands and feet. Thanks for the chance for an awesome experience. Twitter fan@plumerea
