Are you looking for a fun way to Celebrate New Years with the Family in Edmonton (and area)? There are quite a few family friendly activities and events happening for you this week and here they are:

Ice Castles

Visit the Ice Castles while they are here; this spectacular display is one you won’t want to miss!

When: December 30th until March
Where: Hawrelak Park

Countdown at the Conservatory

You can enjoy some family fun at the Conservatory; there will be family activities, and count down’s every hour!

When: December 31st | 10 am to 2 pm
Where: Muttart Conservatory
Cost: Regular Admission Applies

New Year’s Party

Head over to Gymboree Play & Learn for an afternoon of fun; there will be family activities, crafts, bubbles, parachute fun and more!

When: December 31st | 1 to 2:30 pm
Where: 356 Bulyea Rd
Cost: $15 per child | Additional $10 for siblings

New Year’s Festival

The New Year’s Festival is a family event that offers indoor and outdoor activities; there will be face painting, building blocks, bonfires, crafts, skating, broom ball and more!

When: December 31st | 4 to 8 pm
Where: Broadmoor Lake Park, Community Centre and Festival Place (Sherwood Park)
Cost: FREE

Family Rock N’Glow

Monster Mini Golf presents the Monstrous New Years Eve Family Rock N’Glow which includes unlimited mini golf, live music, prizes and dinner!

When: December 31st | 4 to 7 pm
Where: 3414 Gateway Blvd.
Cost: Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door; Families of four are $75 (extra person $20)

Family Fest

Family Fest is a New Years Eve tradition in Stony Plain; it offers a fireworks display, crafts, hot dogs & hot chocolate, skating and more!

When: December 31st | 6 to 9 pm
Where: Heritage Park (Stony Plain)
Cost: FREE, however visitors are asked to bring a non-perishable food bank donation

Community Access Night at the AGA

Servus Credit Union has partnered with the Art Gallery of Alberta to ensure that everyone in the community has the opportunity to access the Gallery; they do this by offering a free admission evening once a month!

When: December 31st | 6 to 9 pm
Where: Art Gallery of Alberta
Cost: FREE

NYE Family Dance

Ring in the New Year at a Family Dance; there will be live music, a midnight buffet and a silent auction.

When: December 31st | 6:30 pm to 2 am
Where: Devon Community Centre (Devon)
Cost: Adults: $25 | Children (4 – 17): $10 | Under 3: Free

New Year’s Eve Downtown

Celebrate New Year’s Eve downtown this year, with kids crafts and activities, magicians, face painters, live music, ice skating, bannock making, fireworks and more!

When: December 31st | 7 pm to 12:15 am
Where: City Hall & Sir Winston Churchill Square
Cost: FREE

New Year’s Day Levee

The New Year’s Day Levee with the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta is a traditional event that has been taking place since the 1600’s. Levee guests will enjoy light refreshments, a tour of Government House, sending a postcard to overseas soldiers, and more.

New Years Day in the Park

The Glastonbury Community League invites you to enjoy sleigh rides, skating, a fire pit, fire works and more!

When: January 1st | Starting at 3 pm

New Year’s Day

The fun continues in Sherwood Park on New Year’s Day! There will be crafts, games, roving entertainment, outdoor activities and more!

When: January 1st | 1 to 4 pm
Where: 100 Festival Way, Sherwood Park
Cost: FREE

Swing ‘n’ Skate

Swing ‘n’ Skate features live music (swing, jazz and big band) in City Hall which will be projected outside for skaters to enjoy!

When: January 3rd | 1 to 4 pm
Where: City Hall
Cost: FREE, please note free skate rentals are available on a first come, first served basis
