Hoover Cruise Cordless Ultra-Light Vacuum Review + Giveaway!

I don’t know about you but, vacuuming has to be one of my least favorite chores. Having to pick up all the toys, clothes, and god knows whatever else is lying around is just a hassle. Usually, I end up getting my husband to take on the task of vacuuming the house but recently I had to opportunity to try out Hoover’s newest vacuum- the Hoover Cruise Cordless Ultra-Light Vaccum! It offers the power you need to keep your house clean but without the hassle of dealing with a cord or lugging a huge vacuum around ( it’s only 5 pounds!).

Features

  • Cordless Freedom- Allows you to quickly and easily clean without the hassle of a cord.
  • Lightweight- At only 4.7lbs it’s easier to clean up, down and all around.
  • Reach Anywhere Cleaning- Long slim pole reaches up high for cleaning shelves and ceiling fans,
  • Steerable Design- Maneuver around furniture and obstacles by simply moving the handle.
  • Multi-floor Capabilities- Transition to hard flooring to rug areas and low pile carpeting with a push of a button.
  • Converts for handheld cleaning- Removable hand vac is great for cleaning small messes in tight spaces.
  • Quick Release Brush Roll-  Allows you to clean your brush roll with less effort.
  • Optional Trigger Lock- Power trigger locks for cleaning large spaces.
  • Bottom Release Dirt Cup- With just a push of a button, easily empty your dirt cup without getting your hands dirty.
  • Reusable Easy Rinse Filter- Simply rinse, reuse, and repeat for long-lasting use.
  • 2-year Warranty– Which is awesome!

Pros

  • Light-weight- As mom’s we know messes are going to happen, it just comes with the territory. Having the Hoover Cruise be so lightweight makes it so much easier to grab the vacuum and clean up a small mess quickly. Before your kid comes along and makes it 1000 times worse!
  • Cordless-  My little guy is completely obsessed with our light outlets, so I love that the Hoover Cruise is cordless. It saves me having to worry about him unplugging the vacuum and possibly getting hurt.
  • Easy Clean-Up-  This was my first time ever owning a bagless vacuum cleaner and I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. But with the easy release dirt cup, it is incredibly simple to use and much less waste than using a traditional vacuum. Plus, it comes completely apart so you’re able to fully clean out the dirt cup!
  • Storage-   With my large vacuum we struggled to find a spot for it that was convenient, and where it actually fit. With the Hoover Cruise, it comes with its own wall mount and charger.
  • Cheaper Than The Competition-  At $250, the Hoover Cruise is very reasonably priced, especially compared to the Dyson V6 that will cost you $369.
  • Attachments-  The Hoover Cruise comes with some pretty handy attachments such as, a crevice tool, dusting brush, and upholstery tool.

Cons

  • Top Heavy-  Most of the weight is in the handle, which can be hard on your wrists. This also means that if it is not on the mount it will fall over.
  • Trigger Lock-  I often found myself bumping the trigger lock while vacuuming, while this is by no means a deal breaker it was a bit frustrating.
  • Poor Suction-  Larger pieces of food and dirt either had a hard time being sucked up or would just get pushed around.

Final Thoughts

I was quite impressed with the overall performance, look, and price of the Hoover Cruise Ultra-Light Vaccum. While I wouldn’t use it as my primary vacuum, due to the suction not being as strong as my larger vacuum. I still think it is a great option to have around to do light vacuuming throughout the week and to clean up messes quickly.

I could have used this to quickly vacuum up the peanut skins and bits of nuts that always cover the carpet when I eat peanuts in the shell. I always think I’m being careful and collect the shells in a garbage can but still my carpet is covered with remnants, sigh 🙁

I could have used this when my youngest came home from nursery school and i took off her boots not knowing there was sand in both of them. I also could have used this when my daughters put on their boots the next day after walking through tons of mud and it had all dried up so dirt everywhere !

I could have used this vacuum to clean up the big mess that my husband makes every time he snacks in front of the TV and drops popcorn kernels, peanut shells and skins and sunflower seed shells.

I have two cats who enjoy tracking litter through my house. This looks like it would be ideal for those kinds of messes.

I could have used this when we moved furniture around on the weekend. Had plenty of dust bunnies to chase around. Thanks for the chance!

I could use this everyday. When my dogs and I come home from the park, we always seem to track dirt into the house and it is such a pain to pull out the big vacuum for a small job. Thanks for providing such an awesome review. I found it very helpful and informative.

When the kids make a big mess when they eat. Sometimes I think there is more food on the floor than what they ate 🙂

We have a golden retriever and his hair has to be cleaned up at least every second day (or we have fur tumbleweeds throughout the house). This would be handy for pickups in between regular vacuuming.

I would use this everyday to suck up all the cat hair my female leaves behind. We should be collecting it and turning it into “cat wool” as she sheds so much.

I sent the container of pet kibble flying the other day – all over the kitchen. I am sure this would of come in handy to help clean it up. Would also help to clean up the litter that I feel like I am forever cleaning up.

I could use this vacumn for dog food. We have 4 pups so we buy the huge bags of dog food 🙂 We pour it into smaller containers in the kitchen every week. Those bags are not easy to pour so it has “dumped” everywhere by accident. It goes everywhere! Yes the dogs love this part but they don’t always get every kibble. One night we were up all night wondering why one put kept scratching at the microwave stand. After moving in the morning we found 1 little kibble haha. With this light easy vacuum we can easily pull it out to get these kinds of “accidents” . Thanks for this chance

Oh I can think of so many messes – dried up playdough after a day of creating (all the little bits that fall on the floor, ugh!!); cat litter the cat kicks out of his box; crumbs under the table; dirt at our entryway door; tiny bits of paper, glitter, etc. after my daughters have finished cutting, crafting etc.; cat hair… This would be so great for all these types of little clean ups throughout the day, and then I could just bring out my big vacuum once or twice a week for a full clean up.

With 4 kids, a cat, a dog and a late night snacking hubby, I could definitely use this vacuum for my many surprise messes. And I’m looking for the perfect vacuum to get into the little grooves where the hardwood floor connects. #Hoovercontests #thankyou #goodluck

I could use this for all the dog hair around my house and the food crumbs that seem to end up everywhere.

I could have used this vacuum after both of my pup’s got into the toilet paper stash and chewed it up into little bits! And of course the furballs that end up under the couches!! 🙂

I really like an all-in-one strong and dependable vacuum as I have several different surfaces in my home along with 2 small sets of stairs. I literally have to vacuum my kitchen every day as I do a lot of cooking and have a small dog that I have to be careful doesn’t scoop up something he isn’t supposed to. Right now, I’m using 3 different vacuums with attachments to do all the cleaning and I find it’s getting more and more difficult as I get older to clean. Cleaning can be stressful and I try and make things as easy and stress free as possible. I’d really appreciate this vacuum. Thanks for the opportunity.

I could use this anytime fast and convenient in my house because I have a real bad lower back with pain and this would help so much being lightweight. My house would be great with this and I would be in no pain either trying to clean with no heavy weight to pull around.

Years ago my son dumped out an entire large canister of iced tea powdered crystals all over the kitchen floor, then he ran through it with bare feet & tracked iced tea powder down all the hallways.. it was a kitchen nightmare! Would’ve loved the cordless feature of the Hoover for that mess!
