I recently learned that you can get a pair of eyeglasses FREE at the Real Canadian Superstore (Loblaws) with their Kids See Free program (children aged 4-10 years old, up to $49 value). Entering it’s fifth year, they have provided over 5,000 pairs of eyeglasses for kids across Canada over the years!
Ivy and I visited our Real Canadian Superstore Optical last week for her annual check-up. Luckily her vision is pretty-much perfect and she doesn’t need glasses, but she sure did have fun trying some on.
According to the Canadian Association of Optometrists, one in four school-aged children has a vision problem. While we know vision is linked to learning – many Canadian children have never had an eye exam.
I try to schedule my girls for their eye check-ups every year in the month of September as I remember its relevance to school, that way I don’t forget!
Book your appointment now before the end of the year to take advantage of the Kids See Free program. Eye check-ups are free for children under most Provincial Health Plans (call your local optical center to check).
