Our first BabyFest event happens May 10th and I wanted to introduce you to our expert speakers presenting at the one-morning uber-parenting workshop for expectant and new parents.

I’d like to introduce you to Jill Parker, of Little Dreamers Consulting

What is your background and what led you to be a parenting educator/open your business?

Before becoming a Certified Sleep SenseTM Consultant and owner of Little Dreamers Consulting,  I was an Elementary School-teacher-turned-Fundraiser, finishing my working-out-of-the-home days at the University of British Columbia.  My journey to becoming a sleep consultant began after my second baby was born and after having first-hand experience as an exhausted, overwhelmed and sleep-deprived Mommy of a two year old and a newborn!  Given I had always valued and prioritized my sleep, I wasn’t going to give into the idea that I had to be sleep-deprived because I was a parent!  I knew better and I knew the whole family needed help so I sought out a solution that felt right for us.  I wanted us all to get the sleep we needed to be as healthy and happy as could be but most importantly so that my little ones were able to develop and learn as well as possible!

I finally found the Sleep SenseTM Program and it changed our lives!  I loved the program and the philosophy behind it so much that when the opportunity came to be trained by its creator and  leading child sleep expert, Dana Obleman, I jumped at the chance.  I have since learned how to share my passion for sleep and help other babies and families learn healthy sleep hygiene and establish the routines and skills to sleep well!

Do you have any children?  How old are they?

My husband and I have two adorable, well-rested little boys, aged 6 and 8 years.  Their schedules keep us busy as we shuffle between the hockey rinks, soccer fields and baseball diamonds in and around the South Delta area.  I am so fortunate to have a career that allows me to be at home to spend as much time with them as possible and that provides the flexibility to work with families across the Lower Mainland and beyond.

Why are you passionate about your business?

I have a passion for sleep and I value how essential it is to our overall well-being.  To be able to share this passion, to educate parents and to provide a life changing service to families that results in them being happier, healthier and able to enjoy these precious years as a family, is so rewarding.

We look forward to hearing about Infant & Toddler Sleep at Babyfest Jill!
