I’ve been hearing about Netflix for quite a while. But we’ve always subscribed to premium cable TV only. My Husband watches NFL and Golf, so cable or Satellite TV is a must for us (unfortunately or not, depends on how you look at it).
But when Netflix Canada reached out and asked me to join their Stream Team for the year, I couldn’t turn it down. My girls leapt for joy (although I didn’t realize they even knew of or cared about this) that we were finally getting Netflix.
One of the coolest things is that Netflix streams on Apple TV, iPads, iPhones, Android, even Wii, and it remembers your profile so when you’re halfway through episode 4 of season 2 of your favourite-must-watch-current-obsession Netflix knows it, keeps track for you, and no matter what device you’re using to view it, it gets you right back to where you left off. The girls often watch on the iPad or Wii. I was away recently for a conference and I loved that I was able to catch an episode on my laptop in the quiet of my hotel room.
But this month is all about Throw-Back-Thursday (or #TBT) and some of the classics!
I introduced the girls to Ghostbusters this week. Funny enough my five year old loved it (and has watched it a couple of times) and my 10 year old was afraid. But, lucky for you, there are a ton of cute and fun #TBT movies and series to check out on Netflix:
- The Mighty Ducks
- Honey, I Shrunk the Kids
- The Secret of Nimh
- He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
- The Facts of Life
- The Smurfs
- Diff’rent Strokes
And for your little ones:
- My Little Pony: The Runaway Rainbow
- Sesame Street: Classics
- The Busy World of Richard Scarry
- The Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation
- Curious George
- Clifford the Big Red Dog
