This week we are speaking with the owner, Steffanie Fuelkell, owner of Modern Mystical Spirit.
What made you choose to open your business?
I struggled with a lot on my own growing up and wished I had someone to go to for clarity and understanding, especially during the rough times. I wanted to create that kind of support system between myself and my clients. Someone they could go to for truth and to get them on a better path towards abundance and more happiness!
What is your favourite small business? (Aside from your own)
FlynnCare on Etsy. I watch her TikTok videos, she’s so creative! She sells all natural organic vegan bath bombs and other products from the UK. Even all her packaging is eco friendly!
If you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out, what would it be?
Don’t give up if you think you can’t afford to start a small business. Mine started as a Facebook page and Instagram doing solely tarot readings, and now I’m mainly on TikTok and Etsy with my added crystal jewelry collection!
What are your long term business goals?
I would like to open a smaller witchcraft supply store where we have tarot readings in the evenings and on weekends. Space in the back for my mom to pursue her dream of painting, which we would also sell in the store. She’s so talented!
What is your funniest/weirdest/most memorable customer or client experience?
The most relatable and resonated with readings would have to be pet readings. Some people are surprised you can read animals just like people! That’s always a unique experience. Most end up happy crying!
