Mama’s Night Out with TUTS
There’s nothing like an evening under the stars on a warm summer evening to make your day complete. There’s nothing like sharing that special time with those you love. And, there is nothing like a girl’s night out to get you back into the groove of mamahood.
After all, we all need a break from the regular routine and who better to spend it with than with four of your best girlfriends?
And a cute little dog.
I used to hate musicals
I saw Legally Blonde last year at Theatre Under the Stars and I have to saw that I went in with one eye open, not because of severe sleep deprivation, of course there’s that, but more because musicals were not my cup of tea. In fact, until I saw this production I could say in all honesty that I hated musicals. But there was something about my experience that softened my opinion.
It might have been the venue because WOW! it was fabulous.
It was a gorgeous evening, the stars were shining bright, it wasn’t too warm or too cool and Bailey’s Coffees (decaf) was being served. Perfect for a pick me up but I didn’t have to stress about staying up all night long due to caffeine overload.
I was already up in the night and it had nothing to do with drinking too much coffee. Read..our 3 year old was still waking up. All. The. Time.
The venue and ambiance and attention to such details was certainly nice, but what really won me over was the production. The story was light hearted and fun, but sent a powerful message about how women can still be sexy, funny and silly and also be kick*ass smart. It was only a little corny, but I can handle that.
I have to admit though, my beau might have preferred something like Shrek the Musical, (which is one of the selections this year) rather than Legally Blonde, but he is such a musical fanatic that he didn’t seem to mind. Secretly I think he was thrilled.
And now that you’ve decided that you really want to go and check it out because you were completely won over by my stellar knowledge on how to deliver a powerful review, I’ve got a giveaway for you!

So much more than just a night at the theatre, TUTS interweaves a kaleidoscope of elements – setting, scenery, concessions, and quality art – into a fun, encompassing experience that is much greater than the sum of its parts.
Nestled among awe-inspiring Douglas Firs, the company is uniquely suited to Vancouver and reflects some of the city’s most collectively embraced values: exuberance, expression, nature, and youth. The latter is especially important to the organization, as it is not only a presenter of shows, but a creator of opportunities for young performers. The number of careers and life-long relationships with art fostered on the Malkin Bowl stage are countless.
