{Weekends in Edmonton} What to do July 7 to 9

With the weekend just around the corner, it is time to get your plan on! It is going to be a lovely, hot weekend and I would suggest planning some indoor and outdoor activities. Here is a list of ideas to get you started:

Boardwalk Sand on Whyte

Sand on Whyte is back again this year and they invite you to “Be amazed by the work of Canadian sand carving artists as they create sand carving magic that tells our Canada 150 story!”

Where:  on the CP Rail land in the northeast corner of Whyte Avenue and Gateway Blvd

Green Shack Programs

From now through August you can join in games, sports, crafts, music, drama, and special events. You’ll find a list of upcoming activities and special events posted on the side of the Green Shack each week. Find the details here.

Edmonton International Street Performers Festival

The Edmonton International Street Performers Festival is back again this year and as exciting as ever! There is a variety of outdoor entertainment as well as a children’s area; find all the details here!

Callingwood Cars & Coffee

Callingwood Cars and Coffee is back for Summer ’17! Bring your wheels to the Marketplace at Callingwood parking lot and meet up with fellow fans, enjoy refreshments and admire a variety of vehicles.

Build a Bug House

Home Depot invites you to join their hands-on workshop and you and your child can build a bug house. Once the project is complete, your child can personalize their bug house with paint. All kids get to keep their project and receive a FREE certificate of achievement.

Reuse Centre Anniversary Party

FREE Fishing Weekend

This weekend you are encouraged to give fishing a try, and if you don’t have a fishing license, don’t worry – you don’t need one on July 8 + 9.

Spray Parks

If the weather holds out all of the Spray Parks and Outdoor pools in Edmonton and surrounding areas will be opening this weekend!

Greek Community Summer Picnic

The Hellenic-Canadian Community of Edmonton and Region invite you to enjoy a Greek community picnic in the park! There will be a BBQ and activities but families are encouraged to bring extra food and toys as well.
