Another year has gone by and Fall has arrived again so that means we are gearing up for the 2022 Pumpkin patch season! This is always a beautiful time of the year. Kids go back to school, the air is a little cooler and more refreshing. The leaves start to change into beautiful shades of red, orange, brown, and yellow and the fall fairs, corn mazes , apple orchards and pumpkin patches. Being in the agriculture-rich Greater Vancouver area that means there is no shortage of pumpkin patches and apple orchards and fall fun!

Corn Maze opened August 13th!
Chilliwack Corn Maze has lots to keep you and your little ones busy! From a 12 acre corn maze, hay maze, pumpkin patch, petal cars, kids tractors, jumping pillow, playground, merry go round, duck races, farm animals, tractor rides a fire pit and more… This year the maze is in the shape of T-Rex. There is a food hut on site. Rates: $16 per person if pre-booked, otherwise $18 at the door. 75+ and 2 yrs and under – Free. Pets – Free (friendly pets are welcome on a leash). They offer a Thursday family night from 2-6pm admission is $12 at the door. Live music by local artists starting Sept 1 from 5-7pm. ** group rates are available.
Note: Summer hours are in effect until September long weekend then fall hours take effect. Check website for hours as the season progresses.

There is always something happening at Maan Farms. From the backyard barnyard to corn mazes, goat yoga, estate winery, seasonal strawberries and sunflowers you can always find an event happening on site. The Fall festival starts September 17th. Tickets will be released soon. Don’t forget to pick up a Double Pumpkin Spice Cream ice-cream while you are there this fall! Purchase your tickets online in advance to save money.
For the month of September, Maan Farms is doing “Picnic in the petals” . Enjoy a picnic in the sunflowers at your own reserved table. Slots are 90 min in length and children are $30 (chicken strips and fries and slushy) and adults range from $43 to $52 depending on which meal option is chosen. (Tandori chicken and fries, charcuterie boxes and wine or other drink)
Fall at the Farm Returns from Sept 24th to October 31
- Exploring the pumpkin patch with real life princesses and the Fairytale Pumpkin House available in September, along with the first-ever giant pumpkin, which will be available in October.
- Dog Days in the Patch, available on September 24 and October 2, 12, 15, 16, and 29.
- Day-time four-acre Enchanted Corn Maze where guests can play a themed trivia game.
- Barnyard Adventureland complete with a zip line, pedal kart track, giant tire crawl, play fortress, jumping pillow, and giant slides.
- An animal area where guests can feed the baby goats

Review: We go to Maan farms several times a year. There is lots to keep the kids busy. They love the zip line, slides and bouncy pillows (there are now 2). Watching the bunnies hop around the yard is lots of fun too. There are lots of animals to look at and goats and pigs to feed. The seasonal trats are always a big hit. They are so creative and yummy!

Taves Family Farm/Apple Barn

Another great all-round family fun spot is Taves Family Farm. Kids can play in the “Farmville” area (petting barn, pedal carts, jumping pillow and enjoy the goats all around the farm. They offer seasonal strawberry, plum, goji berries and apple u-pick . Stroll through the pumpkin patch and apple orchard, go for a hay ride and enjoy some non-alcoholic apple cider. An estate cidery is on site as well – enjoy a cider while the kids play with the goats ! As of September 1, they are open 7 days a week 9-6pm. You can even book a seasons pass. Book your tickets in advance.
Review: My husband and I were given the opportunity to check out the sunflower patch and cidery at Taves this August for their Sip and Stroll event.
The sunflowers were towering over us in the patch, there were lots of great photo opportunities. The patch is smaller then some of the others, but it was nice and quiet with beautiful flowers in a ray of colors. Check out their website for sip and stroll event nights (Thurs to Sun).

Willowview Farms

Willowview has always been a go -to fall event for us. The great thing is they are FREE admission. You can walk around the farm, visit the petting barn, stroll thru the pumpkin patch and apple orchard, enjoy a hot apple cider or cool apple slushy! Bring a picnic and park yourself on one of many picnic tables. August Hours: Open Tuesday – Saturday 9-5:30 Closed Sunday and Monday No dogs on the farm please, parking lot only.
Review: We always make a stop to check out Willowview every year. We always have to get our annual picture in the big red chair! This year the petting zoo is not open and there are no hay rides due to covid. They do have some goats out in the field to feed though. We picked apples and plums in the orchard and used them for Thanksgiving pies. Getting an apple cider slushie is a tradition for us, and they never disappoint. There was less to do there this year, but we still had fun for an hour and I always love checking out the goodies in the store.

The Loft Country farms has been operating for over 2 decades. They are open for the month of October. Known for it’s kidscamps and Loft Country Christmas they are now open for the fall. Opening weekend is September 24/25th! They are open weekends 10-5pm and weekdays starting October 5th from 2pm to 5pm. Visit the Pumpkin Patch, Corn Maze, Play areas, Animal interaction Areas, wagon ride and the great displays for fall photography! Every October 1st, Rondriso Farms Pumpkin Patch opens for the season. Enjoy a hayride ($3 per person) down to our pumpkin fields and pick out your own pumpkin, or choose from an assortment of already-picked pumpkins. Entrance to the pumpkin patch is $6 per person aged 2 and up.
Hay wagon rides go from 10:00-6:00 on weekends, holidays and professional days. Hayrides are available on weekdays from 3:00-6:00 throughout the month of October.
They have mini-pumpkins, gourds, cornstalks and hay bales available for sale at the farm stand. Don’t forget your winter veggies from their general store! Finish off your day with a visit to our cows and chickens.

Pumpkin patch opens October 1 and runs everyday until Oct 31. Open 9am -6pm. In past years they have had a Halloween scarecrow contest display located outside throughout the nursery with a pumpkin display in the middle of the nursery. Admission is FREE. There is a pumpkin display, outdoor play area, animal attractions (pig pen, chicken coop), indoor sand area and a cedar maze. Face painting is back for 2022!

The Harris Pumpkin Patch has been serving the Maple Ridge community for over 30 years and the current mastermind of the patch Steve Harris works tirelessly to improve the crop year after year. It starts in the late spring when Steve decides which types to plant and starts planning out the rows. Fast forward to Autumn and the first week after Thanksgiving when we open up for families to come get their boots dirty and find the best pumpkin for them.

Laity (South) is recommended for kids over the age of 4. There is a pumpkin cannon, Pumpkin town, farmer obstacle course, farm animals, corn maze, families game area, garden glow, a race maze and a right turn only maze.

The Laity Pumpkin Patch has been a family run agri-tourism business for over 30 years. Every October they have visitors from all over the Lower Mainland come to the patch to find the “perfect pumpkin.” Their original 18 acre farm is ideally located in central Maple Ridge and is within an hour’s drive from anywhere in the Lower Mainland. In 2017, they expanded the business to a second location on 20 acres across the street from our original location. Both locations will continue to be owned and operated by members of the Laity family.
In addition to picking a pumpkin, we have many other attractions on our farm which will keep your family entertained for hours.
Rates: Weekend Rate – $12.00 each (age 3 and up) Weekday Rate – $9.00 each Children 2 and under are free. Admission includes all attractions.

Each (1) ticket includes entry, wagon ride and 1 pumpkin per person.

Pumpkin pickers ride hay wagons past the duck ponds and waterfalls to the fields. The farm is ornamented with corn stocks, sunflowers, whimsical decorations, and almost authentic buildings relocated from Transylvania.
Prior to the Pumpkin Hunt, anyone can visit the animal viewing area to see our farm animals. We remind all Pumpkin Pickers not to touch or feed any of our farm animals. Leave your troubles behind and walk through the garden to see how farm produce is grown and cared for. The colorful flower and herb gardens are a sight to see! Purchase preserves, fresh cut flowers, bedding plants, beautifully planted flower baskets and other products right from my country shops.
The afrm is open to the public from the first Saturday in May to October 31. Daily from 10am to 5pm and offers an ever changing smorgasbord of goodies. Bring your mother out for Mother’s Day, the family out for berry picking or your school class out for a visit to the pumpkin patch. Be sure to attend our “Day at the Farm” in September to learn about the importance of local farmland and the products it provides.
