The following restaurants I would recommend for date nights, with the family or for Mom’s Night Out with your friends.
Bow and Stern
2551 Montrose Ave.
This family owned local gem is one of my favourite restaurants in Abbotsford. They have a seafood dominate menu with large portions. The décor is so eclectic that after 20+ visits I still find something new I never noticed.
Must Try: Cajun Chicken Tacos with a Mojito.
Field House Brewery
2281 West Railway
This local brewery is one of my favourite go-to-spots on patio weather summer days. They have a covered patio section, as well as a front lawn section. The Beer Lawn is the second of its kind in BC. There are blankets and lawn chairs to provide a fully relax and hang out vibe. They have live music Thursday nights and a little fox club fort for kids to play in.
Must try: The Faspa Board with a flight of Craft Beer
Brodeur’s Bistro
3550 Mount Lehman Road
They describe themselves as “a blend of Montreal and New Orleans cuisine.” The food portions are large and I have yet to leave without a to-go container. Instead of offering your basic soup, salad or fries as options for sides they have a list of 28 options for sides. If you are an extremely indecisive person this may not be the place for you.
Must try: BBQ Chicken Club with Baked Mac n Cheese.
Noodlebox
2455 West Railway
All of the dishes are made fresh and are customizable. They try to prepare the dishes with fresh non-gmo vegetables that are locally sourced whenever possible and all sauces are house-made with no added MSG. The bowls served in house are very large and almost seems like a magic act that they fit the same serving in the cute to-go-boxes. On lazy nights where I don’t want to cook two Noodleboxes equal two dinners and lunches in my household.
Must try: Thai Style Chicken Chow Mein with Medium Spice and Extra Vegetables.
