Fri, May 2nd – Fri, Sept 26th (5-10 pm) – Friday Night Market at the Shipyards (FREE)
Location: Shipbuilder’s Square at the foot of Lonsdale, North Van
Details: The popular Friday night market is back! Each week you can enjoy fresh food, locally made products, musicians, art and live entertainment. If you’re hungry make sure you visit the food trucks and then stop by the beer and wine garden.
Sat, May 3rd (10am – 3pm) – Family Play Day (FREE)
Location: John Lawson Park, Bellevue & 17th Street, West Van
Details: North Shore Community Resources is holding this family event designed to encourage families to play together outdoors and have fun! For families with children up to 12 years old. Activities include: beach exploration, amazing play spaces, cooperative games, scavenger hunts, water park, art, music and dance for all ages.
Sat, May 3rd (12 – 4pm) – North Vancouver CityFest (FREE)
Location: Lonsdale Skate Park 2300 Lonsdale Avenue, North Van
Details: Cityfest was created by Mark Koop from Youth Unlimited and Dave Sattler from North Shore Alliance Church as a skateboard contest and a BBQ; 11 years later it has grown to become so much more. This year a crowd of over 4,000 are expected to attend, making it the biggest youth festival on the North Shore. Attractions include: BBQ and food booths, skateboard competition, music & dance showcase, longboard races, photobooths and a youth art display.
Sat, May 3rd (1:00 pm) – Forest Sense at the Ecology Centre
Location: Lonsdale Skate Park 2300 Lonsdale Ave, North Van
Details: Amble along with your 3-6 year old and an Ecology Centre naturalist, on a sensory walk and playtime in Lynn Canyon Park. $8.25 per child, adults free. Please pre-register (604-990-3755).
Sat, May 3rd & Sun, May 4th (1:00 pm) – Kids Toy & Clothing Sale ($2 entry)
Location: Lynn Valley Rec Centre, 3590 Lynn Valley Road, North Van
Details: The Lynn Valley Community Association Kid’s Toy and Clothing Sale is a great place to find gently used toys, clothes, equipment and baby accessories. Different vendors on each day.
Sat, May 3rd & Sun, May 4th (1:00 pm) – Bellies to Babies Celebration (by donation)
Location: Croatian Cultural Centre, 3250 Commercial Drive, Van
Details: The Bellies to Babies Celebration, is a one of a kind event, offering a unique opportunity for new and expectant parents and grandparents to explore and shop for trendy baby fashions, décor and so much more! Community resources and support services will be on hand to answer questions for new and expecting parents.
