FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5th
Sidewalk Sale at Lonsdale Quay (10 am – 7 pm) (FREE) Location: 123 Carrie Cates Court Retail Level (2nd floor), North Van Details: The Sidewalk Sale is back! Come out for the best deals of the season from September 5th to 7th on the Retail Level. This event features the best deals of the season, live entertainment, wine sampling, and kids crafts from 12 to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday so it’s fun for the whole family! The Sidewalk Sale starts at 10am each day, and ends at 7pm. Friday Night Market at the Shipyards (5 – 10 pm) (FREE) Location: Shipbuilder’s Square at the foot of Lonsdale, North Van Details: The popular Friday night market is back! Each week you can enjoy fresh food, locally made products, musicians, art and live entertainment. There are always LOTS of kids dancing up a storm in front of the stage. If you’re hungry make sure you visit the food trucks and then stop by the beer and wine garden. Family Movie Night in Edgemont: THE LEGO MOVIE (6 – 10 pm) (FREE) Location: Edgemont Village, North Van Details: Enjoy a night out with the family and watch ‘The Lego Movie’ on the big outdoor screen. This year there’s a pre-party with a Jump for Joy bouncy castle, Sylvia the Balloon Lady, live music, arts & crafts table and face painting by BC Playthings, photo booth, and complimentary popcorn by Grosvenor America, all starting at 6pm. Food trucks include Meet2Eat (falafel, kabobs, hot dogs, etc) and K&J food truck (Austrian). The Lego Movie starts at dusk and is put on by Fresh Air Cinemas and sponsored by the Edgemont Village Business Association. The Village: Celebrating a Decade at Park Royal (10 am – 5 pm) (FREE) Location: Park Royal Shopping Centre South, West Van Details: The Village at Park Royal turns 10 years young this summer! Between July 19 and September 6 you’ll find a host of free activities including live entertainment, pedi-cabs rides, retailer promotions, a $500 shopping spree giveaway and more – all culminating in a free concert headlining the artists: Dear Rouge. Centre & plaza 3625 Banff Court, North Van Details: Guaranteed fun for the whole family featuring the Flow Show – an extreme mountain biking demonstration of airborne bicycle acts, children’s performer – Will Stroet, local exhibitors, Parkgate Singers, puppet show, craft & pottery sales, face painting, balloon artist, free cupcakes and more! Polish Festival (1:30 – 6:30 pm) (FREE) Location: Lynn Valley Village 1255 Lynn Valley Rd, North Van Details: You are invited to celebrate Polish culture and food right here on the North Shore. The event will feature Polish music, singing and folk dancing, the second day celebrating our children and youth, with puppet shows, cartoons, face-painting, and a talent show for elementary school age children and high school youth. Can you sing, dance, act, and play a musical instrument…? You don’t have to be Polish to enter! You can register by email or call: 604-786-1709. Special guests include Polonez Polish Folk Arts ensemble from Edmonton and Puppet Theatre Jester. Vendors will be selling Polish T-shirts and accessories, jewelry, arts and crafts, as well as plenty of delicious traditional Polish food such as sausages, perogies and pastries.

Coho Festival (11 am – 6 pm) (FREE) Location: Ambleside Park, West Vancouver Details: The Coho Festival is a great event the whole family can enjoy. The festival includes The Coho Run, Coho Walk, Coho Swim, activities for the kids, live entertainment, interactive learning about the environment, salmon and other wildlife, and the famous salmon barbecue where Ocean Wise Certified and Ecotrust Certified, wild, Haida Gwaii, Coho Salmon will be grilled. The festival is the main fundraiser for the Coho Society to support its salmon habitat rejuvenation projects and to fund research.
