My Favourite Discoveries on Shaw BlueSky TV

If you caught my last post about Shaw’s new BlueSky TV, you already know I think the voice control is so very cool. You can just speak into the remote to pull up your favourite shows or suggestions.

Here’s my Facebook Live about how we use BlueSkyTV:

For example, say Cooking Shows into the remote, and this comes up – a list of current cooking shows on right now.

When you want to find your favourite show, just say it into the remote. When it comes up (and this is what I love best!) is that it displays all seasons that are available on Shaw as well as CraveTV. This is so handy because when you discover a new series (like Scandal, above, it’s awesome, check it out!), you can simply start from Season 1.

All your recordings are shown visually as well, which is so helpful.

When you’re not sure what to watch, say “What’s On” in to the remote and it brings up what is trending on Shaw at the moment, AND what’s currently trending on Twitter!

I often start with “Movies” when I’m looking for something to watch, and I’m watching Sully as I write this because it’s now FREE on Shaw on Demand!

I have also discovered several new shows thanks to BlueSkyTV! Here are some recommendations:

Kids:

SAM & CAT (age 8+)

Arianna Grande plays one-half of a silly pair of teenage babysitters living on their own in an eclectic apartment. Full of laughs, my girls love this show right now and it’s all on-demand (one season).

Family:

THE FLASH (age 12+ but Ivy loves it)

A superhero show including plenty of DC Comic heroes and villains, this show (filmed in Vancouver) is a family favourite for us right now. One or two nights a week, we all sit down to devour an episode or two together.

Adult:

BILLIONS (age 17+)

A show filled with wealth, legal battles and hedge-fund management drama, I was excited to have discovered this show and now my hubby is into it too. We love to watch a good show together after the kids are in bed.
