The weather forecast for Canada Day weekend on the North Shore is currently a bit of rain on Friday and Saturday, and gorgeous sunny skies for Sunday and Monday (fingers crossed the weather report is right!). FRIDAY, JUNE 28th
Fri, June 28th (5pm – 10pm) – Shipyards Night Market
Location: Lonsdale Shipyards, 15 Wallace Mews, North Vancouver
Details: Entering its third year, the Night Market has exploded into a fantastic night out. The combo of a wide variety of foods, face painting, live local music, farmers and handcrafted goods makes for a great evening for all ages. Over 50 tents are filled with local products showcasing BC’s artisans, bakers and farmers.

Sat, June 29th (2pm – 4pm) – SummerFest Dance Saturdays @ Lonsdale Quay
Location: Lonsdale Quay Market, 123 Carrie Cates Court, North Vancouver
Details: Come out every Saturday starting June 29 – August 31 for free cultural dance lessons and social dancing for all levels with Salsa Studio. MONDAY, JULY 1st
Monday, July 1st (10:00 am – 11:30 am) – North Shore Canada Day Parade
Location: Starts at Grand Boulevard & 13th Street in North Vancouver
Details: Starting at 10:00 a.m. from 13th Street and Grand Boulevard, the Canada Day parade (hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion) will proceed west down 13th Street to Lonsdale Avenue, turning north on Lonsdale. At 17th Street the parade again heads west where it will end at Mahon Park. Should be a great parade with over 80 groups involved!
Monday, July 1st (11:00 am – 1:00 pm) – Canada Day at Park Royal Shopping Centre
Location: Park Royal Shopping Centre, West Vancouver
Details: Stop by the Village at Park Royal to get a maple leaf tattoo and Canada flag to celebrate Canada’s 146th birthday!
Monday, July 1st (12:00 – 4:00 pm) – North Vancouver Canada Day Celebration
Location: Waterfront Park, 200 Block of West Esplanade, North Vancouver
Details: Rotary Club of Lions Gate will be hosting the North Vancouver Canada Day Celebrations on July 1 at Waterfront Park. This fun, free event takes place from 12:00 – 4:00 pm and includes a variety of activities, games and entertainment for all ages! From live multicultural performances to interactive crafts and activities, there is sure to be something for everyone in the family!
Monday, July 1st (4:30 – 10:30 pm) – Canada Day Celebration & Fireworks
Location: John Lawson Park, West Vancouver (and other locations)
Details: Bring your own picnic or purchase BBQ fare while watching live entertainment from John Lawson Park in West Van! The Canada Day fireworks show starts at 10:30 p.m. There will be two simultaneous fireworks shows, one off the shores of West Vancouver and one in the waterway between Canada Place and North Vancouver. The 25-minute spectacular display is viewable from multiple locations along the inlet including; West Vancouver (Ambleside and Dundarave), North Vancouver, Coal Harbour and Stanley Park. This pyro-musical will be simulcast on Classic Rock 101.
