Sticking around town for the August long weekend? Details: Bring tots ages 2+ for a nature story time at the Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre. This is a drop in program, with a suggested donation of $2. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Location: Ambleside Landing, John Lawson Park and more, West Van

Location: Lonsdale Shipyards, 15 Wallace Mews, North Vancouver
Details: Entering its third year, the Night Market has exploded into a fantastic night out. The combo of a wide variety of foods, face painting, live local music, farmers and handcrafted goods makes for a great evening for all ages. Over 50 tents are filled with local products showcasing BC’s artisans, bakers and farmers.
Fri, Aug 2nd (7pm – 9pm) – Live in Lynn Valley (Clive’s Timing – Jazz/Funk)
Location: Lynn Valley Village, North Vancouver
Details: Friday evenings 7-9 pm in July & August this summer sees the return of the popular Live in Lynn Valley concert series. This Friday features the popular Clive’s Timing! Free event. (Note that this event will be cancelled in the event of rain).
Fri, Aug 2nd (7pm – 9pm) – Evenings in Edgemont (The Blues Brothers Review)
Location: Edgemont Village, North Vancouver
Details: The 2013 Evenings in Edgemont summer concert series has an amazing lineup of bands lined up for Friday nights throughout July and August. This Friday night, bring your kids, grab your lawn chairs, and spend an evening in the Village with your neighbours and enjoy amazing entertainment from the Blues Brothers Review. Attendance at these evenings has grown to average 1200 to 1500 or more, and little kids seem especially excited to come out for dancing in the streets (our 3 year old and 1 year old get up and dance for hours at this one!).
Fri, Aug 2nd (7pm – 9pm) – Concerts in the Cove (Mostly Marley)
Location: Panorama Park, Deep Cove, North Vancouver
Details: A free, outdoor, family-friendly concert series held in Deep Cove’s scenic Panorama Park Friday evenings from mid July to mid August. Come bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the music with family and friends.

Location: Cleveland Park (Capilano Dam), North Vancouver
Details: Music is the Park is a free summer concert series that takes place at Cleveland Park/Dam in North Vancouver. The concerts are set against the stunning backdrop of the North Shore Mountains and Capilano Lake.
