We are in the thick of staying home and focusing on social distancing. This is a very challenging time for so many people and so many small businesses. We love supporting local and wanted to do our part in showcasing some fantastic small businesses every week.
This week we interviewed Tanya Erickson of West Coast Wild Child Co.

What is unique about your business or what made you choose this type of business?
I’m a West Coast inspired and Sassy clothing company that loves to design clothes that are relatable and I would wear myself!
What is your favourite small business (aside from your own)?
I personally love to support other small shops such as everlasting candles, Wexford candles, and West Coast Alchemist, another one of my favourites would be The Sweet Life Apparel.
If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?
I think my biggest piece of advice would be to trust your gut, use your genuine skills, and learn the rest as you go. There are so many supportive boss ladies out there that are more than willing to help out when needed! I could probably thank 30-50 brands right now for shaping me into who I am and what my brand is!
What are your long term business goals?
Long Term I would love to call this my full time job, but I’m not quite there yet, I have so many perks at my full time gig that I’m hesitant to give up at this moment. That’s the dream though!
What is your funniest/weirdest/most memorable experience with a customer or client?
I can’t recall one specific customer interaction that stands out since I took over the company because for the most part they are all unique, I enjoy corresponding with my customers and trying to make sure they love the products they receive!
Thanks to West Coast Wild Child Co for participating in this week’s Small Business Sunday.
