Mornings as a mom can be trying to say the least. The chaos of packing lunches, getting everyone looking presentable and fed often leaves you looking a bit disheveled. Anything that will help streamline my school mornings is a big deal in my books. That was why I opted to give eyelash extensions a try! And, let me tell you that they are a game changer. Being able to put on a bit of BB cream and look ready for the day is a huge win. In the past that I have tried eyelash extensions before however, due to having oily skin I was unable to keep them as they burned my eyes and fell off quite rapidly. They use oil to remove your lashes so you can see why this would be an issue. About

Chantelle is the new owner of Tanning by Body Image. She is started out as a representative when Novalash came to Canada 9 years ago. Since then she has used their line while running her lash extension business called Xclusive Lash. After purchasing Body Image she has not only added eyelash extensions as a service but also facials, infrared sauna, spray tanning and more!. Body Image uses Image Skincare for all of their skin treatments so you know you that your skin is getting the best products out there! Giving back has always been important to Chantelle and that is why a portion of her proceeds is donated to Autism Speaks Canada every month.

My Experience

 

When I arrived for my appointment Chantelle was at the front desk waiting to greet me. She then took me to a large beautiful room that she has solely dedicated to doing lashes out of. Once in the room, she went over the consent form with me and we decided what the best style of lashes would be for my eyes. Since I have glasses we ended up not going as long with the lashes as we don’t want them to be pushing up against my glasses. Once everything was decided I laid down and she got to work! Applying the lashes took a little over 2 hours as I opted for the volume set. Overall the process is the same with Novalash as with other lashes except for setting them. In the end, she misted my lashes with water and then proceeded to dry them with s small fan. With other lashes, you are not allowed to get them wet for 24 hours.

Thank goodness they are instantly waterproof as the day I had my lashes put on it was raining. She went over caring for the lashes which were basically to brush them every day to prevent them from tangling and to clean them with water. She will often recommend a cleansing pad that they carry but because I have oily skin it wasn’t necessary for me. So far my lashes have been amazing! absolutely no burning or irritation like I had with my previous lashes and they have stayed on much longer. I also love that I do not have to give up any of my oil based products! LIke with other lashes you will need to have fills done every 2-4 weeks to maintain fullness.
